2011 Steam Summer Sale

Recommended Posts

People should really pick up Lead & Gold, Monday Night Combat, Beat Hazard (and BH Ultra which is just freaking amazing), Solar 2 and a few others I'm forgetting at the moment. :)

Hoenstly, i wouldn't recommend beat hazard unless you like intentionally giving yourself a headache.

You can tone down all the effect settings now. Plus, with the effects maxed out and the screen exploding in color and insanity I never once had a headache or any other issue come from the display.

Bought the entire GTA pack for a while back for ?5 so this sale isn't that good. Grabbed World of Goo, Unreal 3 Black (also gifted my friend a copy) and I got gifted Bit Trip Runner

The GTA pack isn't one of the daily deals, so that's why it's only reduced by 33%. It'll probably be a daily deal later on in the sale, so it'll be reduced further.

Gah I wish Steam Store had a mobile app. I'm going abroad to Europe in 2 days and will only have 20MB of data to use for the period if I wanted to buy anything. Tried putting on Opera Mini on my Android phone for the data compression but it crashes on the Steam store when using 3G for some reason. Any other ideas? :)

Hey guys, check out the THQ Hit pack, $49 (in australia)

Has;

Company of Heroes

Metro 2033

Saints Row 2

Darksiders (one of the best RPG's i have ever played hands down)

Homefront

Dawn of War 2 + Chaos Rising + Retribution

It has a few more as well, but those are the main ones :) MASSIVE bargain

So Lead and Gold is worth the $1.50? Also how does Oblivion run on the PC. Was thinking of getting the 5th anniversary edition next week but $8.50 is just to good to pass up. I have 4Gbs of ram a 2.1ghz core 2 duo and 1GB 4650. If it will run smooth and great I'll grab the PC version, if not I don't mind shelling out the 30 for the 5th anniversary.

Lead and Gold i gather is MP only so be mindful of that.

as for the sale, here we go again! heh heh i see the usual suspects are here...giantpotato, lcg, hello gents  believe it or not but i've only played about half the stuff i bought during the Xmas sale, i'm pretty sure. but this looks like it'll be a very good sale, too, so hopefully we get some nice deals.

salty wagyu - enjoy your trip and don't worry bout this too much, there's always the next sale with Steam and the daily specials...you'll be fine

Wow, Valve, you just hit a new low.

27 EUR for Valve's games for the UK.

45 EUR for Valve's games for the EU.

Also, if you buy the games individually, you pay 171 EUR (not discounted), but if you buy them as a package, you pay 221 EUR (not discounted). WTF!?

Looks like I won't be buying anything.

Lead & Gold is one of the more underrated gems on PC currently. Very fun game online, just pray you get people on your team who are morons or griefers lol

Oblivion runs great on PC, and with some graphic mods looks amazing.

Stay connected affordably in 120+ countries/regions with your own lifetime eSIM! An eSIM is a digital SIM card. It's basically just mobile data. Once it's activated on your device, it can connect you to data networks in other countries – giving you an internet connection with NO roaming charges. With aloSIM, you can load prepaid eSIM data packages onto your phone, tablet, or computer. Your lifetime eSIM never expires, so it's yours forever and there are never any monthly charges. You'll get $50 in eSIM data credit, which is almost always enough to cover all your data roaming needs for a full year. But if you run out of data, you can always top up your lifetime eSIM and stay connected internationally. Pay $24.97 for a lifetime eSIM with $50 in travel data credit Use your eSIM to join data networks in 120+ countries Install your lifetime eSIM on a compatible device to roam on local data networks Your lifetime eSIM never expires, and can be topped up with more data anytime Many data packages cost as little as $4.50 and last 7 days. Depending on the package you choose, the length of time varies. Good to know Length of access: lifetime For NEW customers only Instant digital redemption Once you add your $50 credit to your aloSim account you have up to 12-months to use it — after that your credit will expire When you pay for a data plan you also get a free phone number (via Hushed) for the same duration of your plan that was purchased - IE 7 day eSim plan gives you a free 7-day phone number Purchased coupon must be redeemed and used within 12 months This deal is not stackable (one offer per aloSIM account) A $4.50 data package will last 7 days The data DOES expire, and you WILL NOT have any leftover data for your next trip unless it takes place within the validity period. While the eSIM never expires, the actual data package is only valid for the length of time stated at purchase (i.e. seven days after activation, 30 days after activation, etc.) So if you buy a seven-day package and only use a tiny bit, that package is still going to expire after seven days. • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
    • i backup my files, incl keepass to my proton drive using Syncback which i paid for (thanks Warwagon!). they have a free version but i can't remember what it does and doesn't do anymore. anyways, it's really, really simple and easy to use. i also periodically keep backups of my keepass onsite especially when i've changed or added a password that is important to me. if you don't wanna spend time on the syncthing setup, get syncback. haha i even got my dad to use it for his backups to usb and he doesn't even need my help!!! (thank god!)
