2011 Steam Summer Sale

Recommended Posts

I picked up the three STALKER games. Always been interested in them but the bugs put me off. Got the complete series mods downloaded, so hopefully it'll fix a lot them.

People complaining about the sale being disappointing. It isn't really disappointing because it doesn't have the games you want in the sale or they are not cheap enough. As they have a lot of sales, i've already picked up most of the games i want in past sales. New PC gamers or owners of new rigs will love the sale as they'll probably not have a lot of the decent games in the sale. Fallout NV for ?9 and the DLC for ?4.50 was a bargain.

You also have to be realistic about the sale. As great as they are, you're not going to see Portal 2 in there for a fiver.

Plus it is exciting waiting for the counter to finish and see what new items are in the sale

What happened to the summer sale/camp activities? Steam's store page is back to normal activity

Was just gonna say the same, steam and steampowered.com do not have the deals listed. It was supposed to be until the 10th wasnt it?

Anyone have any experience with Railworks 2? My son and I love electic trains but just do not have the room right now to build our own scene so I figured we would just get a computer sim for now.

It is on sale this week and the Canadian packs are too but would like to hear if it is any good or not.

Another good Train Sim is the one from Microsoft. Very good Train Simulator but discontinued product.

Railworks 2 was part of one of the deals earlier in the sale. I'd probobly wait in case it goes back on sale as part of an encore or something.

I am on the wall on The Sims 3. I noticed it stays ?50 for the last few times it was on sale. I think this time they added their latest expansion in as well The Sims 3 Generations.

There's a new expansion coming along - the Sims 3 Pets. So since I have more 105 games of which I have only finished 10 - 20 of them... I'm wondering if it's worth adding more to the collection, or whether I should wait for the Christmas sale for the new discounted price and new expansion.

This is great! I didnt realise this was going on shame I've missed what looks like some great deals.

Just picked up Batman GOTY and Left4Dead 2 as I never played either!

Now I just have to complete Braid and then get Limbo when its released and i'm complete.

So are there new deals every day?

Yes, until the 10th.

The last day's deals will most likely be the best selling deals from the previous days.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
