SaLiVa
Buy the Battlefield 2 pack individually. It works out cheaper - ?9.76 vs. ?9.99. Question - Is it worth it? SaLiVa
I guess at that price it was worth it. Bought it for playing later. I think The Sims 3 deal can wait. I'll wait for the Christmas sale for that one. Just in case they decide to add in The Sims 3: Pets in the pack at the same price in December. I've got too many games to catch up on as it is, Mass Effect taking my time right now. Valerus
Just picked up The Witcher 2. And now I'm getting the stupid "Steam servers are too busy at the moment" error. It's not like I just dropped $34 on a game and can't download it... Blackhearted
Yes, yes. We are all fully aware that the servers have trouble handling the load during these sales. No real point in complaining about what should be obvious. ViZioN
Yes, yes. We are all fully aware that the servers have trouble handling the load during these sales. No real point in complaining about what should be obvious. Whether it's obvious or not is irrelevant. If people are spending hard-earned money on a game they should expect to be able to play it whenever they choose. Valve know their sales are popular, it's up to them to ensure there's enough server capacity to satisfy the demand. ViperAFK
Yes, yes. We are all fully aware that the servers have trouble handling the load during these sales. No real point in complaining about what should be obvious. Steam is a digital distribution service, and being able to download games is pretty integral, sale or not. Right now I am trying to download a game and must have tried 12 content servers and none are working :/ I imagine some server troubles are always going to happen, but every single one of their content servers shouldn't buckle every time, they need to be more prepared. This happens very often for every big game release too. I love steam but this is an issue they need to improve on. The steam client should also be able to handle overloaded servers better. Right now the downloads just randomly say "download paused" and doesn't even reliably resume if the server stops having issues. LingeringSoul
Kinda glad that they did the most popular deals over again. I was able to pick up Bad Company 2: Vietnam, which I missed the first time around. I also picked up Just Cause 2 and Shogun 2, just for the hell of it. Love these Steam sales :). Olemus
They're well aware of their server issues and are working on a long term solution which changes the way content is delivered. They announced it quite some time ago and their patch notes have mentioned that they're implementing client side stuff. Prosidius
Giant sales like these are the only time I notice the issues anyway and these come up only twice a year. This is the last day of the sale and first time I heard of server problems (unless i missed it in this forum) so I think thats pretty damn good. Some people (you) just need to calm the **** down and wait until things are back up and running again. S*** happens. Gallifrey2
Bought Fallout3 GOTY, Railworks 2 and a couple of the Canadian National Rail addons. Nice prices on all as it came to under $37 for all 4 pieces ordered. Some people (you) just need to calm the **** down and wait until things are back up and running again. S*** happens. It seemed you missed my point. Firstly, I'm calm. I'm not the one swearing all over the place. Maybe you should calm down? I haven't seen the server problems myself, my point was that if people are paying money for a service, they should expect to be able to use said service. It's pretty simple concept really. Personally, I think Steam's service is fantastic. Teebor
I just bought Dawn of War 2: Retribution for $14.84 CAD with 2 and a half hours left on the sale. I'm so glad they put it on sale again. :) Yeah me too, Bought it and its been good fun :D I got the two tickets as well since I bought the game I figured I should play it. I can't believe that I had never played Last Man Standing before though, thats pretty good fun Sadly when the sale opened the game was listed at 75% off but you only got 50% off when you tried to buy it, then they changed it to match at 50% :( oh well still got it cheap so I am VERY happy :D :D But for some reason even though I already bought the helmet with the tickets I can't it anywhere in game, its not in the campaign or last man standing. Anyone got any idea where it is supposed to be? or even when?
