That's an incredibly dumb thing to say especially considering your track record around here. You're essentially challenging Bant when it comes to originality and creativity.. Alan, are you mentally challenged?

Adding to your bag of stupidity is the fact that you still haven't changed the glyphs you stole from c10k2. I asked politely that you to change them and you agreed yet they still remain in your "2" vs.

Ask, no beg, that Bant offers you his talent and insight so that you might one day be a respectable themer.

Whoa-ho now,

I don't mean to sound like some sort of moral interpreter, but really people, what the hell? Weren't these themes originally created to be pleasing for the user,? And where things like appreciation for the theme and gratitude are just bonuses? Just think about that for a minute and keep that in mind.

Now, as everyone knows, every form of art is based off of some predecessor to it, no matter how 'original' you think it is. So yeah, there are a lot of rips everywhere--that's the only way we get to where we're at with different mediums and amazing works of art, it's with that and a little ingenuity of a designer/artiest that advances 'art'. That process is found everywhere in everyday life, it's something you need to deal with.

Not every artiest before a newer artiest is pointed out as anything more than an 'inspiration' if even that.

...Hell, I have no clue where I'm going with this, and I doubt it makes any sense, I just implore the majority of you to have some patience with him and not turn this into some extreme hatred.

You really do have no clue. This guy blatantly rips other themes. He doesn't base anything off of anything. He takes parts from other people's work and passes it off as his own. When he's confronted about it, he calls people stupid and is so offensive, it just makes you want to rip off his head and shove it up his ass. Why he isn't banned, I have no clue.

i guess it would be "sorta fine" if he admitted that he was using other ppls graphics to make his own theme, but the point is that he doesnt, he makes it out that he made the whole theme on his own..

its different when u say:

"here's my new theme guys, hope you'se like it, i would like to thank "blah blah" and "blah blah" for letting me use there graphics so i could mix them up and try to create something new"

compared to when he always says that its all done on his own, and he rants and raves about it like its the best theme around, and doesnt admit that he uses anyone elses graphics for the theme, so he just waits for people to start bagging him and telling him he is a ripper..

,Sep 17 2003, 22:43]Im with you.. i dont see how he could have ripped so many times and neowin never did anything about it.. makes me mad.

It seems to me that the people complaining in this thread are doing so about stuff that has nothing to do with this post at all. If you have a problem about his older posted stuff, fine, but why b1tch about it here? If he has permission on this one, then leave it be.

This is for the mods on 2true.org who asked me to make a vs to use on their computers at their work and for the 2true.org forum visitors

permission or no, they are still not his graphics. the criticism he is getting is about the fact that no matter what he makes, it is not his own. getting permission to take peoples graphics is a good step... but im not sure it's a step in the right direction. alan needs to make his own graphics if he wants to gain any respect on these boards.

Which he acknowledged, yes? So why b1tch about it in a thread about a style which he did at a request and got permission for? I understand what you say, Bant. It's just that I find that some Neowinians have a strange sense of justice (as always) when it comes to posting. (Not aimed at you Bant) I'm used to putting replies about a specific thread in the thread it pertains to and not cross posting. Half of this thread is a cross post about his rips from the past. This however is not unusual at Neowin for some reason and I don't see why. Oh well. :)

    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
    • OpenAI is making Codex more useful in Chrome and the cloud by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI's Codex now has more than 5 million users, up nearly 4x from earlier this year. To further accelerate Codex's growth among developers, OpenAI today announced that it has agreed to acquire Ona, a company that builds secure cloud execution and orchestration technology for developers. Ona will enable developers to run Codex with persistent and controlled cloud infrastructure for long-running agentic workflows. Right now, most Codex execution happens locally on developers' laptops and PCs, and the agents work continuously for hours. Through Ona, OpenAI aims to make Codex agents keep working for days without being tied to a user’s local machine or an active session. This will be an important capability for enterprises that want to deploy AI agents in production while maintaining control over infrastructure, data, security boundaries, credential scope, logging, and review workflows. Like any acquisition, the deal is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the deal closes, OpenAI and Ona will continue to operate as separate companies. After closing, Ona’s team will join the Codex team to improve developer workflows. Alongside the Ona acquisition announcement, OpenAI today introduced a few Codex updates. Developers can now save Codex rate limit resets and use them later instead of losing them when they are not needed immediately. OpenAI is also adding a referral option where users can invite a friend to Codex and get a saved rate limit reset. OpenAI today also announced a developer mode for browser use in Chrome and the Codex in-app browser. With this mode, Codex can use the Chrome DevTools Protocol to debug web apps, inspect pages, and work more directly with browser-based development workflows. Developers can use this when they want Codex to profile JavaScript, inspect console output and network traffic, examine web page states including the DOM and applied styles, and more.
