Charge ipod while computer is hibernating.

I noticed I can still charge my Ipod after the desktop computer is in hibernate mode. It only works if the computer "sees" the ipod. If the computer is already in hibernate mode and I plug it in it doesn't work. Is this common?

I suppose you're using Windows, right? Well, when computer hibernates it "turns off" all ports and devices, in this case USB ports. Honestly, I never noticed it. Take a look at the settings on Power Options in Control Panel.

Yes it happens to my computer too and I like this because it uses less power.
