Behind the House's Head / Wilson's Heart combo (end of series 4) this was one of the best episodes they ever did. I'm very disappointed to see House come to an end, but I felt they ended the series in a really good way.

This was the only way it could really end other than

House actually ending up dead, but since they wanted a "good" ending I'm sure then him faking it and basically starting his life over again is the last option left.

Some of my favorites:

  • Hugh Laurie's own father was a doctor, and he feels a twinge of guilt at "being paid more to become a fake version of my own father."
  • Although the Diagnostic Medicine team deal with all types of diseases, House and his colleagues hold titles in various subspecialties: Dr. Foreman is a neurologist; Dr. Cameron is an immunologist/allergist; Dr. Chase is an intensivist; Dr. Taub is a plastic surgeon; Dr. Kutner specializes in sports medicine; Dr. Hadley (Thirteen)is an internist. As for Dr. House, he is double-certified in infectious disease and nephrology (as mentioned in episode #1.3).
  • Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison became engaged in December of 2006. This was at roughly the time they were shooting the first episodes in which their characters, Dr. Chase and Dr. Cameron, began a romantic relationship.
  • In the episode where Wilson moves in with House (Season 2), House's Tivo list is shown. One of the saved programs is Black-Adder II, featuring Hugh Laurie.
  • One of the movie posters on Wilson's office is Orson Welles' Touch of Evil, where Orson Welles plays a detective with a gimp leg, who solves crimes purely on his intuition. Clearly one of the influences for the character of Dr. House.
  • In several episodes, House is show at home and his address 221B, a tribute to Sherlock Holmes famous London address, 221B Baker Street.
