Yeah, I'd say the angelic civil war is over. Michael and Lucifer are in the cage and Castiel wiped out all of Raphael's followers. I wonder who the Leviathans work for. In the last episode, they mentioned a boss that doesn't like "bad news". As for what their plans are, I guess they simply want to feed on humans discretely.

I think we have to assume god didn't give the angels as much power and that only the first couple of angels even knew about their existence. I feel we will be seeing more of Lucifer, Rafael (did he die? I forgot) etc.

I do hope so...

dont think Raphael is gonna make a re-appearance, but there's a possibility Michael, Lucifer might.

Heck God might bring back Gabriel (since he turned good guy at the very end :p)

Rafael looked pretty dead to me at the end of the season so I don't think he'll be back. Besides, unless the show totally skips out on most of the hierarchy of Heaven, then there are loads of more powerful beings up there besides just Angels and Arcangels which are, iirc, actually at the low end of the spectrum.

Leviathans might be more powerful than angels, but I doubt they can take on archangels and live. As far as heaven is concerned, methinks archangels are the highest end of the spectrum.

I'm happy that the new season has answered my questions as to "what" Eve was.

Judging from the black goo she leaked when she died, she was a Leviathan too. Who woulda thunk it?

That's what people would tend to think but you're forgetting about quite a few other heavinly beings up there. The show hasn't even touched on them because I figure few people even know or ever heard about them so they're sticking with what people know already.

Working off of the angelic hierarchy then the order from highest to lowest is...

Seraphim

Cherubim

Thrones

Dominions

Virtues

Powers

Principalities

Archangels

Angels.

The fact they probably only use Angels and Archangels in the show is because, iirc, those are the only two that can have direct contact with humans? I'd have to double check. The others are up in heaven making sure the universe keeps turning or w/e. :p

Ahh yeah... good recollection :)

I remember when Cass mentioned in S5 about cupids and other types of angels who "kept the wheels running", but even then he said they took their orders from Michael and other "executives". Add to that the fact that Anna said that the archangels are only angels who've seen God face-to-face... and the fact that archangels dont need to be "connected to heaven" to use all their powers. All this led me to believe they were highest 1337s of heaven.

But yeah, you're right about the show building its lore on what's popular with the people, so we probably wont be seeing all those other creatures.

Yeah, I think it would confuse a lot of people. After all, archangels are the most powerful beings in the current Supernatural universe. Actually, I think Death might be more powerful.

Anyway:

They're the first angels and also the only angels to have seen God. With Gabriel and Raphael dead, that leaves only Michael and Lucifer (both of whom are in the cage). It'll be interesting to see if God intervenes again like He did in previous episodes. It would also be interesting if Sam and Dean come across Joshua again. He's an angel (in heaven) that can speak to God.

Girl: How did you find me?

Sam: You dropped this. (Holding up scrap of paper*

Sam: Amy Pond, huh... cute name.

Heh, and earlier on there was a shout-out to My Bloody Valentine. Love this show sometimes, to be honest.

The last episode was pretty amusing.

Did anyone else feel as though Osiris was defeated a little too easily? He didn't even hear Sam sneak up behind him. I was hoping to see him get tossed around a bit to make it look like a struggle.
