It's certainly not surprising ? especially considering they recently hired a new showrunner ? but Supernatural is now officially renewed by The CW for Season 8, reports Zap2It.

The series has gone from one that used to have fans anxiously awaiting news of its return to one of the network's top-rated series. With One Tree Hill now finished, Supernatural also stands out now as the last remaining CW series to originate on The WB. While the Season 8 renewal had been expected pretty much the entire past season, Zap2It says the network has only just given the cast and crew the official word that they'll be back.

woot!

Sweet! I hope they can up the quality of the story though. This season has been a bit lacking compared to others.

Yeah, I've still found it entertaining, but the story has been lacking. I think they escalated things way too quick with the apocalypse thing the past few seasons, which really makes it hard to follow up on with any "bigger" story arcs.

yeah I hope the story is good, I wonder if they will end the Dick Roman story this season

Heh, did you guys pickup the little one liner about "I'll see you guys next season." Right before the end? Just for those who don't follow series news online I guess, now they should know season 8 is coming.

moving to wednesdays next season!

Hmm, wonder if that's good or bad for ratings? I guess it could be good since people should be at home on Wednesdays.

Bit of a meh ending for a finale but wayward son at the start was still awesome

every season they do that at the end...I love that track so much :D

hows dean going to escape purgatory!
