The Skeleton King is tough *period* - monks and barbs simply find it *easier* than wizards.

And in any case, you have to dodge and weave (basically take him on like a boxer fighting way out weight class).

If you have the Templar as a follower (highly recommended!) he can harass/aggro the SK while you take care of the mobs and heal up.

Regardless, you don't want to get into blow-trading with him until he's down to no more than one-third power (barbs) - better yet, one-quarter. (Even then, it's still a hard and tough - though quite fun - slog. I was thinking of some quippage to throw at him during that last chop-chop-chop as I'm turning Leoric into bony toothpicks:

"Hey, Leoric! I see you're lacking iron in your diet - here, try some of mine!"

"Oh, Leo - since you're a King, I'm here to *crown* you!"

"By the way, Leo - your son says Hi."

I think you missed the point. I pooped on Leoric on Hell difficulty. Butcher gave me problems however, as his 13 MILLION health was hard to chop away. You know, with the flame floors, hooks and charges.

I've taken StarcraftHD's advice close to heart and I now always equip a shield! No matter how tempting it is to equip that new rare high dps 2-hander, I stick to a 1-hand weapon and a shield because a shield can block attacks and it adds more stats.

THE SHIELD SAVES LIVES!

His second advice is to max out vitality - it's my primary stat now too regardless of the class I play.

Basically, when balancing the hitpoints with the defense vs the DPS - the former take the priority. The logic is simple - you can't do damage when you're dead lol and lotsa boss fights there are endurance based when you manage your cooldowns and regen life. Life per second is a crucial stat!

I'm happy Diablo has remained Diablo in this aspect ))

I find the AH is pretty good for dumping stuff. I guess it's sort of like offering a way to "speed through" the game, like a cheat, but sanctioned.

And crafting is the best. I think most of my gear is crafted by my blacksmith dude, you just gotta level him enough :)

I level him a lot, but by the time I can use the stuff he can make since i level him enought o make gear higher than me, I already have much better gear than he can make. there was one exception which was a wand, but it wasn't long after I made it that I replaced it. The drops are simply to good, or the crafted stuff not good enough, and witht he AH "cheating" your way to better gear, he's useless.

So not entirely impossible then, not after getting more powerful gear then the game gives you through the AH.

Personally I find that to be a bit of a faulty game design, if you can't defeat the game with the gear you get or can craft throughout the game.

How long do the maintenance windows typically last????? i was just about to hit level 20!!!!!

I hope it's not going to take more than an hour :)

Still, the server maintenance provides a good opportunity to have some food and do some house-keeping work lol. Use this time wisely!

hehehehe! true! :)

I stayed up until the weee hours of the morning last night (this morning?) and beat the game on Normal. It was really, really good. It was a lot of fun, and I'm totally going to start Nightmare tonight at some point.

Though, I'm a little miffed that some of the achievements that I got during the first day or so were wiped which prevented me from getting them (like some of conversation achievements and the lore books). But, since i'm going through the game again, I guess I can click through all of the conversations, so it's not that big of a deal.

It's ridiculous. They even locked the forum topic discussing it (it was over 8800 posts long) and threatened users, rather than simply telling people when the "maintenance" is expected to be completed. Sure people can play on different servers but not with the same characters. I don't want to start again with a Level 1 character when I have a Level 41 and Level 30 character on the European servers.

Blizzard treats its customers like dirt.

They treat it the same way as their WoW servers, I guess.

No one really bitches about paid character transfers, so why bitch about this ?

You don't want to start a level 1 character ? Oh, I'm sorry, going to their forums and whining about it will surely help you achieve that.

And it's perfectly fine for them to lock the forum topic "discussing" it, I haven't read it, but I'm faaairly certain that it's a whine-fest and not a real "discussion".

I can barely play the game and I keep quiet, the moment peak hours start, or say, the WEEKEND, I have over 2k latency.

Blizzard took down the European servers, without warning and without any indication of how long they'd be down. There was a forum topic discussing it and yes, some people were very annoyed and some people were spamming, but rather than simply moderate the topic they decide to lock it altogether. Meanwhile they threaten to come down hard on anyone spamming, yet offer no feedback as to when people can expect to be able to play the game that they've paid for.

I'm not trying to defend spammers, but I find it disgusting that Blizzard would rather go after them than simply tell the millions of people affected by this outage what is going on. I don't care if they treat their WoW players like dirt - I don't play that game. I bought Diablo III and for the first day it wasn't even possible to connect to the servers to play the game, they've been laggy since then and now they take down the servers on the weekend - one of the few times many people get to play games. And you're defending them, while criticising users? I really don't think Blizzard needs you to play the "defend a multi-billion dollar corporation" game.

Personally I find that to be a bit of a faulty game design, if you can't defeat the game with the gear you get or can craft throughout the game.

All the loot is there, you just have to find it.

The AH is an easy way to get geared and you pay the price accordingly.

I've just got my lvl 18 hardcore monk almost fully decked in rares using the AH coz I don't want to die again )

    • Hello, I have used a few TEAM Group SSDs, USB flash drives, and Micro SDXC cards in the past. They all seemed to work fine. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
    • It's growing on me, however, your right, it make better usability sense if the tabs were bellow the address bar.
