Okie dokie sir. I may be playing GW2 tonight, but I'll check in on D3 at various times so that you can give me all your monies. I mean help me.

nvm.. I can't tonight and I have no monies to give. lol. Shakey on the other hand...

Was feeling a bit nostalgic and came across this Diablo 1 final boss video:

Looking at it now with new eyes, the game looks more like Gauntlet than Diablo 3:

I made it to the last boss in Gauntlet but never have beaten the game. That game was hard as hell and so unforgiving.

Finally was able to bring down Belial on Inferno on my Wizard. Now my Wizard and Barbarian are at the same level.

I'm to the point now where it will cost me millions of gold to upgrade any of my slots. Trying to shop thriftily on the AH, but keep getting out bid when I won't go past 600,000. My luck this weekend was just discouraging... but I will beat this game god damn it.

Hey everyone, I'm currently on Act 2 Inferno with my level 60 paragon 3 monk. I've pretty much been maxing my gear for dexterity and vitality, and not much else

6126a45c_Screenshot001.jpeg

I know it might sound stupid, but what kind of stats should I be looking for in addition to dexterity and vitality?

As a melee unit I'm pretty screwed if I run into packs of Elites and Rares on my own.. I usually have to run around like a headless chicken for my health to regen so I can fight a bit more, rinse and repeat. Given my current unit, I'm not sure if I'm better off investing in gear that ups my armor, or resistance. My resistance values are pretty low I imagine for a level 60 unit.

Also, any advice on what skills/runes I should use would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, not buying it. Ever since I heard about the always on connection and the lack of modding, I'll use my money for Torchlight 2. All I wanted was SP and modding like the great ones for Diablo 2. I also wanted to be able to play it while travelling or at a lake that might not have an inet connection, but I guess we as consumers don't matter....

I agree. Requiring an always on net connection is just dumb. It's just another money grabber. I'll put mine on something that don't require that always on net.

I wish I could find (or afford) a nice, fast, one-handed wand and a good source to use on my Wizard. Currently it seems like the best bang-for-your-buck is definitely the two-handers that have their super large crit damage bonus. It is working for me to shoot arcane orbs and watch the blow up in huge numbers (I cringe when I miss though...). But damn is the game a LOT funner when you can do lots of things quickly.

Completed Act 3 Inferno though. I'm on Act 4. Hopefully can finish that up this weekend and be done with this game.

Act 4 is easier than Act 3. You shouldn't have as much issues though Diablo himself is another story.

I don't think you understand how the internet and net connections work. Every time you connect to their server, you are costing them money, not you. It isn't a money grab for that single reason.

I wonder why that is, but I've noticed that Act 4 was quite a bit easier. Maybe because there aren't any damn Soul Ripper elites running around. Currently stuck on Diablo...the furthest I can make solo is the shadow round. Might need to find a group or upgrade some equipment. Every time that I think I'm doing great and might make it through, he throws a debuff on me that drains my life until I'm dead... I'm not sure if I'm just not killing him fast enough or if I'm suppose to somehow be avoiding that debuff.

Of course they are money grabbing since they decided to make the game basically un-piratable. DAMN YOU BLIZZARD AND YOUR CORPORATE GREED THAT KEEPS ME FROM STEALING!!

So..from what I can tell they've nerfed Inferno pretty hard. I would say you need to play Monster Power 1 or 2 to be at the same difficulty level as the 1.0.4 Inferno.

Yep. It's very easy now at the lowest level. I was able to handle elites while 2 of my friends went far ahead of me. I also found my first legendary item: a barbarian mighty belt with pretty good stats.

Blizz is already nerfing the nerf tomorrow:

Here are the new damage values that will be hotfixed in for each MP setting:

MP1: 109.60% (down from 114%)

MP2: 120.12% (down from 130%)

MP3: 131.65% (down from 148%)

MP4: 144.29% (down from 169%)

MP5: 158.14% (down from 193%)

MP6: 173.32% (down from 220%)

MP7: 189.96% (down from 250%)

MP8: 208.20% (down from 285%)

MP9: 228.18% (down from 325%)

MP10: 250.09% (down from 371%)

Source

meh..probably the relentless grind for better and even better gear. Basically what Blizz has done with Diablo and transformed it into the game that never ends. With the MP system there is a ridiculous amount of granularity between difficulties and difficulties beyond the original inferno difficulty. And with the "paragon" leveling system, even if you don't get a good drop you are at least still "leveling".

They also added these specific bosses in each act that can be hard as hell. Each one of them has the possibility of dropping part of an artifact piece. The act IV inferno boss has the potential to drop blacksmith plans that take each of the artifact pieces and create a portal. Inside the portal (once you create it) there are two bosses that are attacking simultaneously (I think) and each one has the potential to drop a material that you need to assemble a legendary ring or the legendary ring plans or something like that. There are like 5 different legendary ring plans with varying names that gives either +int, +str, +dex, or +vit and then some other fixed stats that are decent and then 5-6 random stats of anything I think. None of these drops will happen unless the player has 5 valor stacks (to prevent farming) and the higher the MP setting the more likely these plans and mats might drop as well as the player's magic find. At Inferno MP 10 difficulty the mats/plans always drop (according to blizz blue post).

So there you have it. Basically a grind that never ends. They could have at least thrown a randomized never ending dungeon. Even though that has been done, I think that is more interesting than just grinding the same old content over and over and over again.

The drop rates in diablo are pretty poor still though. I've yet to see any legendaries drop since the patch. I think the entire time I've played diablo 3, I've only seen maybe 4 legendaries drop, and only 1 was really that great (2 million gold great at least, which really isn't that good). I've yet to see any set pieces drop.

They still haven't released or even made a peep about PvP. Prior to release they said that pvp was coming soon in a patch but they haven't delivered that.

The game is probably still worth the money as I think if a player at least plays through Normal, Nightmare, and Hell which should only take about a week or two they will get their money's worth. Just Blizzards idea of an end game is whack and the item system is really, really boring overall. Nothing is really that interesting about the item system until you've already invested a ridiculous amount of hours farming Inferno difficulty. If there were more interesting low level set pieces and legendaries that dropped a little more frequently I think the game would keep my interest more. If a few set pieces dropped that would be perfect for a demon hunter, I might start a demon hunter character just to use my bad ass loot that dropped in another game. Sadly this is really only the case in Diablo 3 if you are willing to grind the same content countless number of times. But I don't regret buying it. I just wish they would add more to the game that gave me an actual incentive to play. They have a really nice gameplay mechanic worked out with all of the classes, I just don't think I can go through the same areas one more time anymore. I'm at my limit. The fact that their randomization in this game is absolute **** has also hindered its re-playability as well. Moving entrances around is fine for the first 4 times you play though...but once you see through it, the game its dull and boring.

In hindsight, I think I would have gotten more gameplay enjoyment if my goal would have been level all playable classes to level 60 as oppose to beating Inferno difficulty on one of my characters and investing in making one character super badass. I would have seen a lot more sides of the game that would have been much more obtainable than the set pieces and bad ass legendary uber drops I've been praying for playing the "loot" part of the game.

Oooh, look what I found just at the beginning of the Hell difficulty level: a dungeon called Developers Hell where all the monsters take their name from real Diablo III developers! Yep, Jay Wilson is the boss there too, and it was a pleasure to knock down with my 52lv Wizard :D

    • You pay just $100 per TB with this rare 4TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD deal by Sayan Sen SSDs and GPUs are incredibly hard to get nowadays due to high pricing. Discounts are quite rare which is why we report on them as soon as we spot a good deal. For example AMD's new 9070 GRE was finally up for sale at a very good price of just $500 thanks to a special coupon. Sadly that deal is gone but if you happen to be looking for a 4TB NVMe SSD and can spend around $400 there is a really good offer on sale that you should not miss out on as TeamGroup's 4TB G50 model is on sale for that that price which means you are only paying $100 per TB, a very good deal in the current market (purchase link under the specs table down below). The TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe SSD is a PCIe Gen4 drive and as such it promises to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s, helping accelerate game loading, file transfers, and everyday computing tasks. Since this is a 4TB drive you can use it for a gaming library to take advantage of things like DirectStorage. The SSD features an InnoGrit controller and SLC caching technology to support consistent performance. An ultra-thin, patented graphene heatsink is included to aid in heat dissipation. • I agree. I also think Phil stayed too long. They should definitely fire whoever thought all a console platform needed was Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout to survive. Asha and crew are still saying they need more Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. They simply don't get it.
    • Macbook Air is an appealing option, as are plethora of Windows devices with various different CPU's
