Abyss Difficulty Level?

Based on his screenshot and the text under his username, I'm going to say that is a difference in name due to translation of one of the difficulties to Italian and/or back to English....

Out of curiousity The King, what are all the difficulty levels in your game?

In English it's:

Normal (level 1-30~)

Nightmare (level 40-50~)

Hell (level 50-60~)

Inferno (level 60)

Normal = Normale

Nightmare = Incubo

Hell = Abisso (this translation makes NO SENSE, imho)

Inferno = Inferno

Normal = Normale

Inferno = Inferno

Interesting......what is the proper translation for Hell? According to Google Translate, it's "Inferno" which would explain why they didn't do an exact translation (then you would have Normale, Incubo, Inferno, Inferno), but I don't know how accurate that is.

The first choice for translating Hell would be "Inferno", yes, but they could have used something more "hell-related" like "Torment" or whatever. Abyss, in my view, is a very poor choice in this case. Or maybe it's because I'm too critical about a game that managed to disappoint me in so many ways (even though I must admit it's somewhat fun, in the long run)....

Started to play Diablo 3 this week and im enjoying it, though i wil admit ive been finding it rather easy and only found out about being able to make it more difficult today so its gone upto 5 and needs to be raised more if im honest. Kinda disappointing at how easy ive been finding it if im honest be good when i get to 60 and the harder levels and start farming for fun though =)

Oh and yes i will do the other characters.

does anyone even play this game anymore on here, lol.

I thought about picking it up again, but I'm gonna focus on building a new computer first.

Ya I still play. Just finished all the classes in 60 on softcore and have been gearing them out via drops/AH. Just gotta finish the WD then I'll move onto hardcore characters. Haven't really bother with paragon to much. Got extremely lucky on drops and took advantage of the recent gold inflation to make a billion gold or so.

Game is about 1000x better than it was at launch. Only thing missing is itemization (which should be next patch) and the removal of AH (never gonna happen :( ).

Nope,got old and repetitive very quickly. Plus, the AH is so over priced its ruined the experience.

Hey all,

Well I recently started playing diablo 3 again as a wizard and I was hoping I could get some advice.

I'm trying to solo nightmare and I was wondering if my items were okay and/or my build could be better?

Any suggestions?

As far as the items go, you need to get rid of strength and dexterity in favour of more vitality and intelligence. And the amethyst is the best gem to put into your head item imho as it gives +% life.

And in terms of items, do you think i'm doing okay or not?

Any tips for leveling up faster btw?

Talents? Basically, you have three choices. You can go for damage, survivability, or utility. Unfortunately, I haven't played a wizard to know it inside out.

However, in order to level up faster, you obviously need to put as many points into damage as possible, but then you'll be lacking survival skills. It's a balance a player has to work out for themselves and it's the beauty of this game's design because there's no right or wrong talent composition ) It gives a variety of play-styles.

Having said that, the fastest way to level up faster is to play with a group of friends ))

Leveling just focus on weapon DPS, vit, int. Don't worry about anything else. Throw a Ruby gem (%xp) in your helm (highest one you can craft/afford) to help increase XP gain. And with the MP XP changes always play in a party. The increase XP helps out alot. Just play the wiz like a melee toon. It's how I leveled my Wizard.

When you get to hell, pick up a few pieces of gear with ALL resist on it and/or switch to energy armor to help stay alive, if you need it.

I would definitely play more if they added some new content. As much as people complain about there not being much replay-ability in Diablo 3 (when compared to Diablo 2), it was still a really kick ass game from beginning to end. Really looking forward to the expansion. I hope Blizzard adds at least 2 new acts but I worry that we will only get 1 new act.

With the console release of Diablo 3 imminent, I wonder if Blizzard is going to extend game controller support to the PC version.  What do you think?  I mean...it surely wouldn't be the best experience.   I'm curious as to how well the console controls are executed and it would be nice to have a similar optional interface/control scheme for D3 PC.

2 hours of gameplay on PS4. Should give a little more insight

    • Same Internet Archive seemed to grab the new version https://web.archive.org/web/20...d/Setup_MakeMKV_v1.18.4.exe Here's the link to an additional file it periodically downloads https://web.archive.org/web/20260213092148/https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin I think update's keys, etc. To manually trigger this update, put the sdf.bin file in the root of where the program is installed. When you launch the program it will pick up the file and import it. Typically put it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdf.bin
    • Windows 11 KB5094126, KB5093998 bugging out Office apps but it may not be Microsoft's fault by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. Although the tech giant did not acknowledge any major problems, some users online reported various issues ranging from OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. You can read about them in this dedicated piece. While there is still no confirmation about those problems from Microsoft the company has admitted to another bug which we did not report on. The tech giant has confirmed it has received reports of an issue in which certain third-party applications may be unable to launch Microsoft Office apps or open Office documents after installing the Patch Tuesday. This affects both Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. The company says the problem impacts a subset of applications that rely on OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) automation to communicate with Microsoft Office programs. According to Microsoft, affected scenarios involve third-party software attempting to open Office applications or documents from within their own interface. In such cases, the Office program may fail to launch altogether, or the requested document may not open. Oddly there may not be any error message, which probably makes the issue difficult to diagnose. The bug affects several Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other apps in the Microsoft Office suite when they are launched through the affected software. These include tax and accounting software such as CCH Engagement and Workpaper Manager, dental practice management solutions like Dentrix and Softdent, as well as the popular research and reference management tool Zotero. Microsoft adds that other applications using similar Office integration methods could also experience the same problematic behavior. To understand the issue it is important to look at OLE, the Microsoft technology involved. OLE allows different applications to work together and share data, while its Automation feature lets one program control another. Thus this enables third-party software to launch Microsoft Office apps, open documents, and perform tasks automatically without requiring users to switch between programs. Because many accounting, healthcare, research, and business applications rely on OLE automation to interact with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps, any disruption can break those workflows. As a result, affected software may be unable to open Office documents or launch Office applications even though the programs themselves continue to work normally. At the moment the company has not provided a permanent fix though it has confirmed that engineers are actively working on a resolution, which will be delivered through a future Windows update. As such additional details will be shared once more information becomes available. In the meantime, Microsoft recommends a simple workaround for affected users whic is to open the Office application or document directly rather than launching it through the third-party program. For enterprise customers and organizations managing larger deployments, Microsoft says an additional mitigation is available. Admins experiencing the problem on their managed devices are advised to contact Microsoft Support for business to obtain and apply the workaround.
