When I clicked the thing and saw your name I new it was gonna be something like this.

Anyhow, that's first impressions. Outside of ladders which I feel is a completely redundant and worthless feature most of the changes they're making now look promising. And the nice part is most of them are going to be retroactive so farming new stuff to get to what we have now won't be needed.

And not to take anything away from PoE, it's a great game. But it's just so boring looking, both the combat and the aesthetic of the armor and weapons.

The next expansion is at the end of the month.

It is constantly improving its systems, balance, visuals, and content.

I'm am in love with PoE. I'd been planning to buy a PS4/X1 all along for Destiny but PoE has remained so strong that it would be a waste, I wouldn't even turn it on...

That's great. And I'm not trying to be rude but if you want to talk about PoE there is a different thread for that.

I think we are actually all confused and should be discussing Diablo 3 in the PoE thread, trag3dy ;).

They sure are dragging their heels on 2.1 release. Shiesh. I'm hoping it is more than a week or two of added gameplay, but it doesn't look significant enough (content wise) for prolonged enjoyment (but I will have to try it out first, so the jury is out). I have still been checking daily for a definitive release date.

I'm desperate to get reaper of souls on the PS4, but I'm too skint just now.

If someone buys me it I'll change my Neowin avatar (and add a signature) for Xbox/Xbone One forever.

no joke lol

Use bing, gain rewards points, trade in for amazon or gamestop credits, buy game.

I actually managed to use Bing rewards to completely 100% pay for my Destiny Limited Edition ($100)

How does this work ?!

Edit: Argh, not available in my country. How long does it realistically take? VPN! lol

Yeah, bing rewards has earned me a few free games already, great service.

Also, there are xbox live rewards, where you can also earn points to use on content. Its a bit more involved, but hey, its free money. Of course that wont help Audioboxer.

Ever since they changed the format it's been next to useless for me. I used to earn quite a bit back from it pre-currency switch. Post switch = zilch (N)

I've got a OnePlus One 64GB invite now, who's giving me Diablo 3 for it

I might actually buy the phone, currently have a Nexus 5. Waiting to hear about Nexus 6. Luckily my invite has a 180 day expiration.

Might go hunting on NW and see if anyone else owns the phone.

So I actually never played any Diablo games.

The whole lore and world of Blizzard games just were never all that appealing to me.

Well because of the slow release schedule, I put this new release on my GameFly queue and decided a rental would not hurt anyone.

I apparently have been missing out.

I was a huge fan of the game Gauntlet when I was younger. Huge fan. Myself and a few friends actually came so damn close to beating it in the actual arcade.

Beat it many times when it was released on home consoles.

Well I will be damned if Diablo III, at least to me, is really just a modern take on the game Gauntlet, with obviously much, much, much deeper customization and RPG elements.

I think I am actually going to keep it now through GameFly, as it really does seem like a game one can just keep going back to.

My only reservation is it is clearly a game made for Co-Op, but I really do play games on my own these days, so I do worry about the fact I may eventually just be overpowered on my own.

But damn this is an entertaining game.

Currently a Level 10 With Doctor, playing on Hard (chose Normal initially but was just way to easy) and have what seem to be a couple of good items already. Really damn good game. Sucks I have missed out on it all of this time, but definitely a case of better late then never.

As long as you keep upgrading your gear you will never not be able to solo, even on the hardest difficulty settings.

In fact with the best gear in the game you'll be wondering if there should be higher difficulty levels.

I don't know if this is true or not but I've heard the drop rates are higher on consoles as well. So time investment to get high end gear isn't as much as it is on pc.

What console are you playing on? I'm thinking of getting it for XBox 360, but I may hold out until I have a PS4. Who knows when that will be.

PS4. I'd definitely hold out for it or the One version if you can. It looks and runs great.

Get it for PC MAN! Then we can go play! :D

Get it for PC MAN! Then we can go play! :D

Honestly I think part of the reason I like it on console so much is because it is dumbed down.

Seriously though, I think I may have even played Diablo III with you right when it was first released on PC? There was a beta or friends could gift you a copy for 24 hours or something like that, I definitely know I checked it out when it was released, and I probably was just like "screw this, way too much to keep track of" as honestly that is always why I never really play RPG's, I am no doubt somewhat lazy when it comes to playing games and I prefer to just play and not worry about managing this and 50 keyboard commands and keystrokes.

The way the controller works is just really intuitive and easy. Definitely does the best job I have seen of making the game way more accessible. I know purists will say I am speaking nonsense, but it got me to play a genre I have avoided for a very long time now.

Of course I could always just use a controller on PC I am guessing, but I think the PS4 currently is capable of better graphics than my current PC. If and when I finally do build my new gaming PC, I no doubt will check it out.

It's pretty much the same thing aside for a couple of differences. But it's alright I understand. I can never ever get used to the controller to do the stuff (i.e access menus, and changing items etc) it seems to take more effort than you really need to. Plus, if you do a sit down co-op, one player can't do something off screen. Your characters must constantly be beside each other. lol. Say, if you are full on inventory, and your friend doesn't.. you need to go with them back to town. Again, I'm just saying this for sit down co-op. But yeah, for sure enjoy it on console.

Diablo 3 on pc has like 4 buttons you need to worry about.

If they are not immediately around the area of W,A,S,D I usually check out.

Seriously thought it very well could have been somewhat easy to control, I honestly do not remember, but I do know for sure just the overall approach to things is something I never really got into until the other night when I checked it out. Really the easiest I can put it is if a game had an inventory and magic, I just was not interested. As I said, just to much to keep track of, and actually the only thing I am kind of finding to be tedious now that I am Level 13 and have gotten a decent amount of items is having to put them in my stash, sell them, etc. etc.

Also the fantasy genre, for lack of a better definition, has really just never been my thing. I have liked the Lord OF The Rings movie but was not crazy about them, and that is as much as I got into the genre itself. I prefer SciFi - Action Adventure type stuff. Truthfully speaking I am probably much more willing to give it a chance thanks to Game Of Thrones and how much I have gotten into it.

Like i said I am definitely going to check it out when I build a new PC. I just have no immediate rush to do so right now as I am positive the PS4 version runs better than my 5 years old gaming build.

With all that said is it ever on sale?

Blizzard games are rarely on sale lol. Unless like an expansion is coming out soon. Maybe Christmas?

On amazon Diablo 3 is technically on sale right now for $26.95. The expansion is also on sale for $25.95. This is for the pc of course.

The Ultimate Evil edition (which is the console version) isn't out yet I don't think so it's probably not gonna be on sale anywhere.

    • I agree. I also think Phil stayed too long. They should definitely fire whoever thought all a console platform needed was Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout to survive. Asha and crew are still saying they need more Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. They simply don't get it.

    • Mozilla highlights Firefox Nova 2026 redesign and more upcoming features with new roadmap by Sayan Sen Last month Mozilla confirmed that Firefox was set to get a major redesign this year. Dubbed "Project Nova", it can already be tested and will roll out to all users later this year. The idea is to keep the browser competitive in a rapidly evolving internet landscape. As such the revamp focuses on improving privacy, usability, performance, accessibility, and customization. Key privacy features including the built-in VPN, private browsing mode, and Enhanced Tracking Protection, will be more visible and easier to manage, while users will have the option to disable AI features entirely through a dedicated kill switch. Additionally, the redesign promises faster page loading, the return of Compact mode, expanded personalization options, and stronger accessibility support. You can find the full details in the dedicated piece linked above. In a new blog post today the company once again reiterated on Nova and also emphasized other new and upcoming features like the settings revamp that is intended to make it easier for users to understand browser settings. In order to make it simpler for users to keep up with such features Mozilla today is launching Firefox roadmap. Hence enthusiasts and interested users will be able to check out what's cooking and also share feedback about the upcoming additions. Alongside the roadmap announcement, Mozilla also highlighted what's new in Firefox 152. One of the biggest additions is the arrival of Tab Groups on Android. The feature, which has already been helping desktop users organize large numbers of tabs, is now beginning to roll out on mobile. Users will be able to group related tabs together, assign names and colors to them, and return to them later. Mozilla says support for iOS will arrive later this year. Firefox 152 also introduces the aforementioned redesigned Settings experience. The company says the changes are meant to make controls easier to find and help users discover features they may not have previously known about. Existing preferences are not changing, though they are now better organized. Another notable addition is the new Blocked Tracker Widget, which provides a visual overview of Firefox's privacy protections by showing how many trackers have been blocked over time and the types of tracking activity the browser has stopped. Looking ahead, Mozilla revealed several upcoming roadmap features. They include customizable keyboard shortcuts, as well as enhanced PDF editing tools that will allow documents to be split, merged, and reorganized directly within Firefox. The company is also working on bringing Multi-Account Containers into the native Firefox experience thus removing the need for a separate extension. Meanwhile Firefox's built-in VPN is set to expand to mobile devices. Mozilla is also developing AI-powered features like Quick Answers, which can provide concise responses to voice queries, and Smart Window, its optional AI browsing experience that is now available without a waitlist. Finally, a new Power Saving Mode is in the works and will help reduce the impact of resource-heavy tabs on mobile devices in order to extend battery life. The video below summarizes the upcoming changes in an easy to understand format: You can find the announcement blog post here on Mozilla's official website.
    • Dead on arrival at that price. Like they missed the mark by multiple hundreds of dollars - this should actually undercut the Macbook Air at $899 if they want any sort of sales / further adoption of WoA
