J.J. Abram's 'Alcatraz'.

It looks good. If J.J. is behind it, I'm in. He hasn't steered me wrong yet. LOST and Fringe are proof of that. The show premiers on Sunday, January 8th 2012, but it will be on Monday's at 9 p.m. EST after that. Right after one of the best new shows of 2011, Terra Nova. It will be one of the best new shows of 2012!! Awake will be the best, then The River, Missing, and then Alcatraz.

The best new shows of 2011 are: Terra Nova, Revenge, Person of Interest, Ringer, Unforgettable, Prime Suspect, A Gifted Man, and The Secret Circle. I don't work for any of the networks. I just love watching great and interesting, suspenseful dramas.

Anyone watch this last night? I thought it was a decent start. Pretty much, classic JJ.

I did, I thought it was OK. I just hope they don't drag out the mystery too much and actually give answers. Fox has a tendency to hype up a show, but if ratings tank they will either kill it or move it to Friday (which is essentially killing it.)

This show looks awful from the trailers...

LOL @ JJ Abrams.

Yeah, I thought it looked pretty stupid from that awful commercial I kept seeing.

It probably didn't help that I was trying to watch the daily show online and the video player wigged out and started playing that commercial over and over again. I've been conditioned to hate it

I watched it and so far I did like it, it will be interesting to see where they will take this down the road. I am hesitant in watching a new show because most of hte new shows that I started to watch (or semi new) always seem to end within 1-2 seasons (i.e. Sarah Connor Chronicles, V, The Event, Flash Forward etc...) so I might hold off until the 3-4 season (if there are any?) before I seriously start to watch more of it.

Well to be fair all those shows sucked :p

Watched both episodes today. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I'll give it a few more episodes before I decide. Definitely cool seeing the City and its landmarks, very familiar with it.

I just hope they have a solid premise for all of it and not just some lame explanation. That's always my worry with these shows.

All I have to do is look at 'House' to see how Fox can keep stuff around for too long. That show is a disaster since the 3rd season.

 - So agree with you there - i miss TSCC and FlashForward the most!

But saw an episode last night - not bad I thought. Will see the other episode today :)

I wonder if they will try to introduce Al Capone into the series somehow? since history said that he died in Alcatraz and they could bring him back in many ways? have to wait and see?

Al Capone died at his home in Palm Island, Florida: http://www.nytimes.c.../bday/0117.html ;-)

[edit] He went to Alcatraz in 1934 and was released in 1939.
