wessleym
When updating to Windows Phone Mango, are we supposed to receive two to three updates (7392, 7403, and 7720) or just one (7720)? Or will only those doing the network trick have three updates? I remember reading someone's comment who had received the update naturally and only had one build to install. But maybe he didn't know what he was talking about. So can anyone who installed the update without the network trick verify how many updates were installed? neo158
I already had 7392 so all I had to install was 7403 and 7720 on my HD7. 7403 provisions the phone for Mango, just like the beta versions, and 7720 is the Mango update itself. You only get 7720 on it's own if you already have one of the two betas installed. primexx
really? I was under the impression that it's only for those doing the hack to update -.- seems unlikely that they would leave the process so convoluted for the official channel. +LogicalApex MVC Posted September 29, 2011 MVC Share Posted September 29, 2011 You should get at least two updates. Mango and your OEM firmware. If you are on the Dev Beta or a version older than 7392 you'll get more. wessleym
7403 is OEM Firmware 7720 is Mango Where did you read this? Also, can anyone affirm that the natural update process (no network tricks) gave them 7403 and 7720? wessleym
I still have two questions: 1. When did Microsoft say that 7403 is OEM firmware and 7720 is Mango? 2. Can someone who updated through the natural method confirm that they received both 7403 and 7720? lalalawawawa
7403 is 'cleanup' update. To prepare the OS for the big Mango update. It has nothing to do with firmware and stuff.
