Please second this - Vote for Zune getting social network sharing features

Recommended Posts

So, if you've been up to the latest new then you know MSFT created this site where people can post and vote for ideas for the next gen of WP!

I'll be greedy just this time so you guys can help the following idea turn true

I'm a Last.FM addictive user and I love to brag my musical tastes :p Anyways, ever since I started using this service and got my first Zune, I was frustrated by the fact there's no official way to scrobble my songs played on Zune (software, device, WP7).

After Facebook's introduction of Open Graph (specifically Spotify showing what you've listened to on your Facebook account) this made me realize of the huge potential of this tinny feature. Not only Zune could be exposed through Last.FM but imagine being exposed to the largest social network of this planet which therefore would be exposure for WP7! And besides, I would totally kill for my [Zune] songs show up in my Facebook and Last.FM

So please, second and vote for this idea here

Comments?

As I posted in this section the Zune brand and service is alive and growing, coming to Canada on Oct 3rd. At first I thought you were asking for the ability to share music with friends, something that will never happen.

On that subject though, I'd like the ability to at least send pictures over bluetooth. Has anyone posted that feature on the site yet?

Well, it certainly would be amazing to be able to share music/playlists just like in Spotify but it's not really what I meant. (Just out of curiosity, why do do say sharing music is something that "will never happen"? on Zune)

No, what I mean is being able to send what I'm listening to to Last.FM (scrobbling feature) and Facebook (Ticker through Open Graph)

Yeah, after reading your post I get what you really ment and I agree, that should be a nice option to have. I mean sharing media like over bluetooth which you can do on some feature phones, like Nokias will let you share any file on your phone via bluetooth unless it's DRMed. Now because of the nature of the Zune pass and other services that let you unlimited stream media or buy it, even though it's not DRMed and just mp3 etc they still won't let you just share it with all your friends over bluetooth.

But I think pictures should be an exception to this. I understand why you block video and music, but pictures should be fine really.

I'm having a hard time to tell if you actually understood what I'm saying LOL. I don't know where you get the idea that I want to share music/files/images through bluetooth. When I said sharing I meant sending a link of a song so my friend when he clicks such link, the song will automatically start playing on his Zune Pass. It's actually not a link but it's as if I'm sending the actual song to my friend's inbox (all within Zune - no emailing need) - again, if you're familiar with Spotify, you'll understand what I mean.

But again, this isn't exactly my proposal. My idea is letting Zune send in real time a feed of the music we are listening to to social networks like Last.FM and Facebook (Ticker = real-time update box); that's all! :p

No, i do understand, I just brought up a different subject. In the end I just tossed in that we should have the option to share pictures with other people via bluetooth instead of having to send it as a MMS and get charged for it. We do a good chunk of sharing right now as far as posting up on FB or twitter etc so why not?

Oh ok!

Man, I really wish the Zune team listens to our suggestions!

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
