DDR 400 Memory Question

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what is the best Corsair DDR 400 Dual Channel memory that will work in the Intel D865GBF. The processor on the motherboard is a 3.0ghz p4 w/ht. I want the best performance possible and I was looking for either 4 x 512MB Chips or 4 x 1GB Chips. Either way they need to be dual channel compatible but if anyone could read the specs of the board and tell me what they would put in I would appreciate it. Also I do know that dual channel memory is sold usually in pairs.

for the Intel 865GBF i suggust you get the Corsair modules that end in "C2". Installing the most recent BIOS also will give you better memory compatibilty too and fix a bunch of bugs in that Motherboard. Visit the Intel site for the file.

1GB DDR400 Modules do not exist at this time. At the most right now you can install 2GB (4x512).

Get a Corsair TwinX Kit they have 2 matched memory modules in the package.

Corsair 2x256 Kits:

TwinX512-3200C2 XMS3200 512MB 2-3-3-7-T1 2x184 DIMM Black Heat Spreader

TwinX512-3200C2PT XMS3200 512MB 2-3-3-7-T1 2x184 DIMM Platinum Heat Spreader

Corsair 2x512 Kits:

TwinX1024-3200C2 XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-7-T1 2x184 DIMM Black Heat Spreader

TwinX1024-3200C2PT XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-7-T1 2x184 DIMM Platinum Heat Spreader

thanks, I just hope that memory is the right one because the reason I asked if the memory doesnt meet the specs the mobo causes blue screens.

Update the 865GBF's BIOS for the best memory compatibilty.

Yes. If you can afford them. go with the Pro model which has those nice LED's on them and the Black Heat Spreader.

    • You know - if you abbreviate 2038 as 2K38, it's exactly the same number of characters and so isn't actually an abbreviation - and worse, just makes it confusing for people who weren't aware of the original Y2K problem which happened 25 years ago.
    • This only works for sites that care about the law. Anyone who can't or doesn't want to meet the requirements will either use a VPN or go to a (piracy) alternative that doesn't care about the law. It'll be even worse than the people having visited the law abiding sites without the verification. So way to go on that one.

    • Depends, they did have some practice with The Man in the High Castle on occupation force having taken over and focused on USA's subjugation, which is closer to Machine Games Wolfenstien run with the second game in concept. But not to the extent of the batshit insane stuff in the original games before then. We don't have any hints to where in the timeline they will place the TV series. So just pray it doesn't suck and keeps close to the source material to make it more different than the same beats as TMITHC.
