Doesn't the fact that Android upgrades are offered for free shift at least some of that blame to handset makers who can't be bothered to support older devices with firmware upgrades that include newer versions of Android?
In your comparison with Windows 11 compatibility, it is Microsoft who is preventing the upgrade, in the case of an Andriod, it is almost certainly the OEM who is preventing the upgrade. Just like Windows 11 can be made to run on older hardware, newer versions of Andriod can typically also be made to run on older hardware.
I did, and it's just another prime example of an end user falling for microsoft's deception of "safely store your most precious files on OneDrive". All they were doing is gathering their data in one place using the resources they had access to in the moment, and they had the false impression that their OneDrive storage was one of such resources.
ANY average Joe could have been the victim of this same sh*t, with all the false advertising of cloud storage being "safe for your personal data" going around scott free. There needs to be regulation on these tech giants to safe guard average Joes from these hostile and anti-consumer tech giants. Here's hoping this incident catches the attention of the EU to come up with proper regulation of those false advertisements.
