The age old question has finally been answered. Does the Windows 7 logo slow down the booting of Windows?

I would like to see the test again but done on two high end desktops with SSDs just to be sure.

The PCs don't look like they have identical software, but I can live with that fraction of a second difference. :p

There are different icons on the desktop when it's booted. Even installing a driver for a USB peripheral could change the boot time.

NVM... the left edge of one is covered up.

My comment stands. I can live without that extra fraction of a second delay in the GUI boot. :)

No their aren't.. Just the left of the right screen has been cropped off a bit.

Indeed! It was my first attempt at split screen. Not perfect but it worked.

I guess the short answer from both testing at home, and these videos is that there is no real difference. Boot times vary wildly anyway depending on what software is installed / removed / updated, performed maintenance, large amounts of data change etc

Thanks for this , if you really want to slow down your boot time, install a custom boot screen. I had one for awhile then went back to the standard. I normally just use hybrid sleep.

So, in summary, if your hobby is restarting your Windows 7 machine as many times as possible over the course of a day you might get an extra one in if you turn off the boot logo image.
