Need a new music player

My ipod touch has died and since I lack the soldering skills/equipment to fix it I'm looking for something new.

Im not looking for another smartphone-without-a-phone type thing so a new ipod touch (and cowon d3, galaxy s wifi, etc) is out of the question. What I want is:

-Relatively small (compared to a 4.3 inch smartphone)

-Physical play/pause etc buttons

-Good sound quality

-Not horrible and fiddly to use

So far its between the sony walkman A865 and the cowon J3 but Im open to suggestions if Ive missed something. At the moment Im leaning towards the cowon because of the battery life (64 hours :woot: ) but yesterday it was the walkman (much better ui). The cowon is more than a year old (only just noticed that) is it still worth buying? And which is better, or something else?
