1 way sync a folder from SMB to my mac?

I have a media server with all my music on. I'd like to copy it to my mac's hard drive.

I'd then like to copy ONLY NEW content over periodically.

I've tried to build an automator script, but for files it already sees, it simply makes a "xxxxxx copy" file.

Can anyone suggest a plan of action? Would rsync do this? If so, assuming my network path is smb://homesrv/media/music with a un/pw of user/pass

?40 is a bit steep for such a thing.

Windows backup, incrementally copy the folder?

Or a scheduled task to robocopy.

windows 2008 or 2011 HS will watch folders the same way Mac OSX does, or similarly.

rsync does incremental backups automatically so all you'll need is to use the -r flag to recursively grab the files.

For example;

rsync -r /some/magical/mount/mp3/ /my/cool/local/directory/

Check your /Volumes/ directory to see if it's already mounted there when you access the share via Finder.

you might need to use rcron as a scheduler... This article should be still relevant (even though it is from 2001...rcron hasn't changed much)
