Weird flickerings when official ATI catalyst drivers are installed!

I got a weird issue with my GPU card (ATI RadeonHD 5770). Everything is working fine with latest official drivers for my card which comes with windows but when i am trying the latest from the ati website (i tried 9.xx and all the series of 10.xx). Flickering comes when playing media on my secondary screen. (1080p basically and also i tried different resolutions too!). I uploaded 2 photos and i wish that you can understand better what i want to explain to you! Sorry for my bad English and thanks a lot in advance!

Ive had flickering issues when using HDMI and DVI on 2x monitors of different resolutions.

42" TV using HDMI w/ Audio at 1920x1080 and 24" Monitor using DVI at 1920x1200.

When opening a webpage with flash or opening a media file, monitor 1 (TV) flickers but it only happens for about a half second then is fine.

2x XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB Cards

I dunno what to say. Maybe the latest ones don't work as well with your particular card? You know the old ones work so I don't see why you insisted on upgrading?

Typically have to upgrade to receive better performance on newer games unfortunately and this issue has been around for a long while without a solution so there really is no reason to not update the drivers since it doesn't make the situation worse and using old ones doesn't fix the problem.

The similarity seems to be the 5770 series, I wonder if it is just a flaw with that series of cards.

That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August.       Never used the G7 Pro, but I've never had a good experience with that style of d-pad and fighting games.
