The latest Entertainment Software Rating Board listing update has revealed that Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are coming to the Playstation 3. Sony Computer Entertainment is being listed as the publisher for both games, making it extremely likely that they are PS2 Classic re-releases on the Playstation Network. You can check out some screens from the two games in the slideshow to the left of this article.

Grand Theft Auto 3 was first released for the Playstation 2 in North America on October 22, 2001. It received an M (for Mature) rating by the ESRB due to blood, strong language and violence. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City then followed in October 27, 2002. The sequel got an M (for Mature) rating as a result of contents relating to blood, gore, strong language, strong sexual content and violence.

It is unknown when will Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City be released for the Playstation 3.

I still demand a San Andreas remake in glorious new detail (not new design!) and native multiplayer etc...

SA for iOS? I can clear all my games folders then and play SA all day long! (Y)

SA = Best 3D GTA title of them all!

Might have to give Vice City a go, never did put more than 1-2 hours in originally.

Sadly the GTA games age terribly, when I first played Vice City it was absolutely amazing, it was one of my favourite games, I then made the mistake of replaying it a few months ago and well it was terrible same with GTA 3, they're just so dull and boring, it's a shame you never played it properly you'll never be able to appreciate it for the great game it is. :(

San Andreas never aged with me!

Although I'll give you it was "freshest at the time back then". :)

I still have all my GTA games and have tossed VC into my PS3 on a few occassions and still enjoyed it, though granted I'm sure a lot of that was nostalgia. Put an insane amount of hours into that game when it came out, easily my favorite GTA game released. Meanwhile I've had GTA4 since release and still have not beat that game at all.

So it looks like GTA 3 will soon be on every device known to man, that's awesome.

I'm curious to see if they do a 360 and Wii version :p

MS never removed backwards compat so just get the xbox versions of gta3, vice and san.

I played gta3, VC and SA for a ridiculous amount of hours they were just so much fun, yet GTA 4 I completed it then never went back it just wasn't fun enough it took it self way to seriously.
