RIP PSN account. Hello Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account

Recommended Posts

Dear xxxx,

On February 8, 2012, your ?PlayStation?Network account? will be renamed a ?Sony Entertainment Network account? or a ?SEN account? in conjunction with Sony Computer Entertainment?s PlayStation?3 system software and PlayStation?Vita system software updates. (Note, this change will not be applied to the PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) system at this time.)

For general purposes, this account change is a change in name only. Your username or password will not change, nor are we asking you to change them. In accordance with this transition, some necessary naming changes will be made to the TOS and Privacy Policy.

This transition is based on Sony?s goal to enhance its unique digital entertainment offering. As a series of these activities Sony started last September, PlayStation?Network will be aligned with ?Sony Entertainment Network.? This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.

Thank you for your continued loyalty and support during this transition.

Sincerely,

The Sony Entertainment Network Team

Kaz looking for unification?

Considering I already had to sign onto a SEN account to handle redeeming codes and account management for my PSN account, which seemed like it was way to many steps, as others have said, about time.

As long as my current username, password, settings and everything else stays intact, I could care less.

WHY WHY WHY do people misuse this saying? Please watch :p

Thank you for posting that before I had the chance to!

Back on-topic, I don't mind the change in name. If it means it'll unify their services (so no separate PSN and SOE accounts), then good!

Because not everybody uses British English? It still makes sense if you aren't anally retentative and ignore the literal meaning.

That's like me calling you a female as long as you ignore the literal meaning of it, after all they are humans too?

That's like me calling you a female as long as you ignore the literal meaning of it, after all they are humans too?

Are you asking us if they are humans too? Yes, they are humans too.

This seems to be unanimous; it's a good idea.

In reality though, it'll still be the same old PS-SEN(say fast)

Yeah, but I think a lot of people are a little OCD about (holy ****, I just received my email about this name change. Freaky coincidence) accounts and their names and accessing them. Having it unified just seems neater.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • Too late for a slightly older computer I had that didn't meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11 but had great hardware. I installed ubuntu on that thing and gave to a friend's kid.
