neowin Would you like to see a Neowin iPhone app?

I am looking for a project to help further my iPhone development skills. I know that Invision has an app (although at the moment it seems inaccessible on the App Store), but it doesn't work with Neowin.

I would like to propose that we, as a community, develop an iPhone app. I am willing to put time and effort into the project.

Obviously we would need mod approval for this...

Edit: Neowin has its own OS, so why not an iPhone app?

If you'd be willing to help, what area of development would you like to do?

I don't see the point, I hate Apps for the sake of Apps, the mobile version of the website works absolutely fine, plus it works on all the major platforms.

If it's just like a 'wrapper' that loads the news and the forums in a different design, then I'd say that there is no point in it.

Why only iPhone? Neowin has a nice mobile version, that could be pinned to home-screen. And it also has a very "app-like" feel.

But if there is an app, I would surely download it on my iPod. And really nice of you, to offer to work on this project. :yes:

why? You can build one if you want polish your skillz but what's the point of appfying something as simple as a forum? The mobile website is just fine.

Mobile forums work fine for me, for the rare occasion I will check the site on my phone. And for the news I just get it fed into Google Reader.

So for me there is no use for an app. :)

I find the mobile neowin pretty decent. With apps like flipped, skygrid I don?t think I want to download additionally an app targeting only a specific website.

The mobile Neowin site is nice :) but I'd like an android app. What I'd like most of all though is Tapatalk integration, that's one thing that I'm seriously missing :(

open Neowin in safari on your phone, create bookmark, send bookmark to home screen. Now you have an "app" on your home screen complete with neowin logo for icon.

Id be happy just to get the mobile site to work right. Keeps reverting back to desktop

I voted "no." Partly because I don't have an iPhone so it wouldn't be useful for me, and partly because the mobile site is fine the way it is - not to mention any device can access it rather than just the iPhone.
