Audio Player Recommendation Needed

I have little knowledge about these things, there are hundreds of them out there and well I don't know where to start.

Many are too feature-less while others are stuffed full of features I couldn't care less about (and do not want to pay money for).

The one that is falling apart right now is an Insignia NS-DV2G I think - it is mostly broken.

I also had a Sansa one (don't recall the exact name of product) which I lost, because I loose small things.

No, my cellphone is not a good audio player.

Anyway,

Features not needed:
* Video Playback (small screen)
* View Pictures (small screen)
* Radio (mostly not music in US)
* Touchscreen (big hands)
* Fingerprint Magnetism (duh)

Oh and the volume restrictions if present are alright (I heard some have those) - I think I need to stop the whole "if your headphones can double as a vibrator, your volume is loud enough" ideology.
