Annoying Bug - Lion

See the video below:

I cannot seem to get this turned off. I want to switch from one window to another without the other going away. Hard to explain, but hopefully the above helps. :)

I have zapped Pram - run all updates, checked disk permissions, verfied everything as well. Went through the Mission Control and nothing there. I reinstalled Lion the other day and this is when it started.

I think you have found the problem. :)

It appears then that for whatever reason, the ALT key is frozen stuck? If that makes sense...I can hold the ALT key down and things behave normally only when it is held down. I don't have Universal Access activated though, so not sure what would cause that.

view the video he posted, it shows his problem

Sorry but im still new to OSX, (just got a imac) from other posts i too see that if you hold ALT then you get the same sort of problem as in the video. At first i thought he was talking about spaces. But yea Hold ALT and you get the same thing happening.

Enable the guest account and login to that to see if the problem exists there. If not, then it's possibly some app you have running causing this.

If not then, broken ALT key, or possibly (at a stretch) a bad third party keyboard driver.

Also, what apps do you have running?

Did the guest login and things are working fine. Also, booted into Snow Leopard on my other partition and no issues.

So, now I am thinking then that for whatever reason, my user account is corrupt somehow with a preference or setting which I can't seem to find anywhere I look.

As far as software, nothing out of the norm that I haven't run before this issue. MagicMousePrefs (first thought, disabled and still have the issue), Menu Meters - Had problem even before installing that, so know it isn't it. Problem existed before that installed as well. Growl - freshly installed yesterday so I know it didn't cause that.

As for regular programs, Firefox, Thunderbird usually full time. I have quit all of those, fresh boot, and still have same issue with them not running.

Then, as needed, Filezilla, Safari, Virtualbox, Thoughts and Tincta. All of these programs were installed after I noticed this issue.

I don't really think it is a broken ALT key since in Snow Leopard and Guest Account would exhibit the same symptoms if it was broken. As for keyboard - it is a Mac Aluminum Keyboard with 10key wired so would think the driver would be fine. :)
