Transformers 4 Director & Date Set

Recommended Posts

Series producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura was at Toy Fair 2012 today where he confirmed that Transformers 4 is moving ahead with Michael Bay back in the director's chair and a 2014 release date.

Deadline says that Bay and Co. will only shoot Transformers 4 next and not the fourth and fifth installments back-to-back as had been rumored last year. The site adds that the Paramount brass and Bay are all plenty peeved at Di Bonaventura for letting the proverbial cat of the bag before they could officially announce the news. Bay will first shoot Pain and Gain with Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg.

UPDATED: Paramount Pictures has now issued a press release officially announcing Michael Bay's involvement:

Paramount Pictures announced today that director Michael Bay has signed a two-picture deal with the studio, which will commence this spring with the filming of Pain and Gain, and will be followed by the next installment in the hit Transformers franchise.

Based on a true story, Pain and Gain follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida. First told in an article from the Miami New Times, Pain and Gain, will be directed by Bay and will star Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Expected to begin production in early spring, the movie's producers include Bay, Donald De Line and Ian Bryce.

Following Pain and Gain, Bay will bring audiences a new take on the Transformers franchise as he begins production on the fourth installment in the hit series of movies based on the best-selling Hasbro toyline. The third, and most recent installment of the franchise, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Is the fourth highest global grossing film of all time with 1.124 billion dollars of worldwide box office success. Directed by Bay, the movie will re-unite the filmmaking team from the hit franchise, including producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce; and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. Paramount Pictures will release the film on June 29th, 2014.

"Michael has been working on PAIN AND GAIN for a number of years but has patiently waited for the perfect casting to trigger a start," said Adam Goodman, President of Paramount's Film Group. "Clearly his patience has paid off as we couldn't be more excited about this combo. His passion for this project is just awesome."

there are so many chars that people want to see that it could be an almost never ending saga. Monsterous transformers like metroplex and trypticon, fortress maximus, head masters, power masters, etc. But I think the biggest right now are the dinobots, unicron, galvatron, ultra magnus and possibly even the passing of optimus to roddimus prime. There are some really big transformers with even bigger possible explosions (what could be bigger than a planet sized explosion in the upper atmosphere, even bigger than the failed jump of cybertron). There are a lot of heros/vilans that have not been touched yet.....and can absolutely kill the series for good if not done right. How do you transform a city?

I personally don't want to see any massive transformers in a movie. It worked for a cartoon, but it doesn't really work for live action. That just seems like going big just for the sake of being bigger than the last movie. It's like the cheesy super-sized villains in power rangers. They should just try to stick to 'normal'-sized Transformers and try to develop their character.

After Michael Bay said "No more Transformers for me", seems Paramount has managed to convince him to do 1 more.

Maybe Shia LaBeouf will return as an evil Transformer....LOL

Seriously, Paramount must have offered Bay a large sum of cash because I remember him saying that the third installment was his last and that he didn't want anything more to do with robots so he must have gotten a hell of a deal.

For the love of Gawd no just no, Rodimus was the worst leader they ever had. All he ever did was run away from responsibility and second guess himself as a leader. These videos just about sum it up.
NSFW just warning you.

    • O&O ShutUp10 3.1.1104 by Razvan Serea O&O ShutUp10 offers a simple yet effective way to take control of your Windows privacy. It provides access to almost 50 privacy-related tweaks, most of them hidden or not easily accessible to the average computer users. Using a very simple interface, you decide how Windows 10/11 should respect your privacy by deciding which unwanted functions should be deactivated. Using ShutUp10 you can easily disable Windows Defender, turn off telemetry, disable peer-to-peer updates, turn off Wi-Fi Sense, disable automatic Windows updates, turn off and reset Cortana and more. ShutUp10 allows you to create a System Restore point before you apply any changes, so that you can revert your system at any time if you run into problems. O&O ShutUp10 is entirely free and does not have to be installed – it can be simply run directly and immediately on your PC. And it will not install or download retrospectively unwanted or unnecessary software, like so many other programs do these days! O&O ShutUp10 Free and Premium The latest version brings O&O ShutUp10 Premium, expanding the app’s long-standing privacy controls with automatic enforcement of user-defined settings. Instead of manually rechecking options after every Windows update, users can set their preferred privacy configuration once—or apply recommended settings in a single click—and the tool continuously monitors them in the background. If Windows 10 or 11 re-enables disabled features or introduces new data collection paths, Premium restores the chosen settings automatically without user intervention. The free version remains available and fully functional for manual adjustments, offering the same core privacy controls for Windows. However, the Premium tier is aimed at users who want long-term, hands-off protection, adding automatic reapplication after updates, ongoing monitoring, and optional notifications to ensure privacy settings remain consistent over time. • In the past few days I have noticed two odd moderation activities. First, when I posted the term 'White Nationist Christian' it was asterisk's out. When I changed it to **** it was allowed! Second, in the Politics is a ###business thread I was allowed to post that the GOP is a party of p e d ophiles but I was censored  when I posted the GOP are a party of p e d ophile protectors. Wtf Neowin. Please explain.
