Probably but that's why gatekeeper exists, apple won't verify the developer and will require the end user to allow unverified apps to be installed in order for the end consumer to install the application.

Well I have a dummy app running that uses it and that isn't in the store so I cannot see how or why they would allow not app store apps to use it. Yes it will be a fight to get it installed on ML but it does, at this time, work.

Has the Trash can icon changed in Mountain Lion? I know the Dock has different perspective/reflections, but the icon itself looks different. It also doesn't seem to get "fat" anymore when you add things into it.

Been using it on my main production main (LIVING ON THE EDGE!) since monday, havn't had a single crash. Stupid stable right now, loving it so far. As little as things have changed since Lion, my new Air that came with Lion, felt old as crap, really weird.

Hopefully someone finds a way to force airplay to work on older machines, also how to disable this nasty dock shadow.

Yeah, Apple finally included the Trash icon they've been using for their PR material. :woot:

Still can't cycle through Launchpad windows with the mouse wheel. Dunno why they haven't fixed this yet. If they want us to use it they should make navigating through it as easy as possible.

I'm using Launchpad these days and with my Magic Trackpad it really couldn't be any easier.

Nice, I knew it looked different.

I've finally switched back to the Dock on the bottom after so many years of side-docking. Thus, I had no idea the Dock even changed until DP4. Man, it looks great.

At this point, I'll probably just go ahead and install ML over my primary Lion install. DP4 has been rock solid for me and I don't foresee any major issues between now and the GM.

It's easy enough to do it in terminal

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1

then just kill the finder and voila

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1

That's for AirDrop. Might not work for AirPlay.

Also it seems hard disks are set to sleep after a set time by default now and the option to disable it has been removed from the Energy Saver prefs. To disable sleep (on battery and AC) run this from the terminal: sudo pmset -a disksleep 0

    • Microsoft released new Defender update for Windows 11, 10, Server ISO installations by Sayan Sen Microsoft releases new Windows Defender update packages very frequently to protect against various newly discovered malware. Once a while every three months or so, the company also pushes out these updates to Windows images (WIM and VHD) and ISOs, that are used to install Windows. Hence with the newest Windows 11 update available via the official MCT tool, you should get these definitions. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.445.323.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 ESU, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, Win 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Win 10 Ent LTSB 2016, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: "This package updates the anti-malware client, anti-malware engine, and signature versions in the OS installation images to following versions: Platform version: 4.18.26040.7 Engine version: 1.1.26040.8 Security intelligence version: 1.447.236.0" From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.447.236.0 was released early last month and adds threat detections for various malware like trojan, backdoor exploits, ransomware, stealers, AutoKMS, and more. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.451.297.0 at the time of writing.
