My thoughts exactly .Neo. And it doesn't make any sense to me unless Facebook requested. Why would Apple hold a feature like this off until the fall?

They are still working on this as it's not completely integrated and they were going to release it in the fall with iOS 6, which is what was said last week at the keynote.

... iWork the largest update ever it deserves, enterprises would not hesitate in switching to Macs.

Speaking of, I almost totally forgot about iWork. There haven't been any rumors recently even about that. iWork is what, 3 years old now? I know they've done a few minor updates to add in iWork.com support and now iCloud support, but that's nothing compared to what it should be getting.

Launchpad now has an extra light blur setting for the color background in addition to the previous two blur settings.

Hold ctrl+opt+cmd and press B while in Launchpad to cycle through the settings.

Another icon request: iTunes icon and the CS6 icons, they look great.

I still wish Launchpad was a bit more robust, though. Still a bit too basic for my liking.

iTunes CS5 Fold

What would you suggest they add?

Also The shadow has been reduced on the dock in the 12A248 update.

For Launchpad, all I want them to "add" is what I would consider fairly basic desktop computer behavior, like being able to move more than one icon at a time, being able to easily delete unwanted icons, even if they didn't come from the App Store. I feel that Launchpad is a complete copy of how the home screens work on iOS, which is okay, I suppose, but I just feel Launchpad could stand to have a bit more complexity to it.

Normally I would just ignore it entirely, but I do like using it as an app launcher.

Can?t wait until it?s released. Not a lot of things annoy me in OS X anymore.

If only they could make a Finder that?s stable and give iWork the largest update ever it deserves, enterprises would not hesitate in switching to Macs.

They really do need to give iWork some good TLC but equally Microsoft need to give Office 2011 some love or at least share with its user base about the future direction of Office for Mac. IMHO, if the next version of Microsoft Office came with no new features with the only change being that made them 100% Cocoa applications I'd be more than happy to pay full price to upgrade from Office 2011.

Regarding Finder - what issues are you having? personally for me I haven't had a single hang or crash of Finder since Snow Leopard and the complete re-write using Cocoa and modern API's which enabled proper threading etc. have you don't a memory check? did a clean install? are you running any third party daemons in the background such as Growl?

The latest update really helped stability, especially with Safari. Glad the shadow for the Dock has been reduced, too. All in all it seems far smoother.

Here's some more screenshots of the Facebook integration.

Yeah same here. Since OS X Snow Leopard I have had no stability issues with the Finder.

It?s not necessarily that it crashes per se. Yes, I?ve had it crash a few times on all of my Macs, and "Right click > Force quit" would never work, but it?s not the only problem. Sometimes I will click on the icon of the Finder and it won?t pop up a window. Then I?ll click a bunch of times and nothing. One workaround that sometimes work is Right click > New window.

Another thing, not related to stability, but I have a major design problem with the File Path being disabled by default, and with the pill button gone in the Finder. I couldn?t get a new window to pop up once, and I was stuck with this control-less window of the image disk I had mounted. I was wondering where I could make the toolbar appear on the image disk I mounted. Seemed unclear to me, I don?t want to know what Mac newbies will think of this.

Explorer on Windows is a mess, I?ll give you that, but at least it?s very convenient to use and I can understand switchers that hate the Finder.

Never had that problem. Not once.

You never ever thought of looking under View > Show/Hide Toolbar? Really? The functionality has been there since forever. It also seems fairly obvious it's there since you want to change something about how you're viewing things. Then there's even the search, in case you're unsure where to find something. Again, typing in "toolbar" - since that's what you want to enable - seems like an extremely logical place to start. Never thought about doing that either? :/ In the worst case you can even open your own Finder window, let's say your home folder, and select the mounted disk image there in order to have access to a full toolbar. Not sure why this wouldn't be possible in your case.

Not sure what's going on here but so far I haven't been getting any updates from Facebook through Notification Center.

Facebook integration didn't need installing again? Because, mine's running like a charm. + Facebook updates for me is working :s Build 12A248 ?

And you're right the wallpaper does look very 'low quality'....

I'm guessing it's because the Dock is now rendered differently than before.

It looks fine to me.

I installed the Facebook thing after installing DP4. Then yesterday ran the DP4 software update. Of course it's build 12A248 after updating, what else would it be?

I didn't say anything about the Zebra desktop picture quality...

It looks fine to me.

?? Nidoking is asking why the "shelf" isn't included when making a screen shot of the Dock alone. My answer to that is it's probably because OS X Mountain Lion renders the Dock differently from how OS X Lion does it.

    • Microsoft released new Defender update for Windows 11, 10, Server ISO installations by Sayan Sen Microsoft releases new Windows Defender update packages very frequently to protect against various newly discovered malware. Once a while every three months or so, the company also pushes out these updates to Windows images (WIM and VHD) and ISOs, that are used to install Windows. Hence with the newest Windows 11 update available via the official MCT tool, you should get these definitions. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.445.323.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 ESU, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, Win 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Win 10 Ent LTSB 2016, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: "This package updates the anti-malware client, anti-malware engine, and signature versions in the OS installation images to following versions: Platform version: 4.18.26040.7 Engine version: 1.1.26040.8 Security intelligence version: 1.447.236.0" From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.447.236.0 was released early last month and adds threat detections for various malware like trojan, backdoor exploits, ransomware, stealers, AutoKMS, and more. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.451.297.0 at the time of writing.
    • Hello, Hope all is well. I am in UK.
    • I'm not happy with myself for it, but I've gone and got hold of it. Just another 45 minutes and I'll be Bond, James Bond. In my defence, IO's Hitman series is awesome, and I'm a sucker for 007. So while it might seem a bit simplified compared to Hitman, I'm sure I'll be right at home.
    • Or just check the script yourself ^^. I hate having a Microsoft account tied to my windows install.
