Bud Light Platinum : It tastes like Beer Mixed with Communion Wine

bud-light-platinum.jpg

I recently had a chance to taste the new Bud Light Platinum. I first saw the Beer advertised on a commercial during the super bowl. The purplish color of the bottle got my attention.

So last Friday night I gave it a try. I'm not one to like normal beers, because while some beers taste a little lighter a little smoother, as a whole I think a lot of beers taste the same. It's hard to find a beer that tastes like something all it's own. Case and point, I bought a variety pack at the local liquor store. it was a case of 6 different beers I had never had. Sadly all 6 while having different names all tasted similar to each other or to something I've already had before.

So enter Bud Light Platinum. When I first tried it it was very different than anything I had tasted. As I swallowed it, I got a certain taste my mouth that had me stumped for the longest time. I sat there examining each swig wonder what that taste was that I was tasting.

I finally came to the conclusion that this beer tastes like beer mixed with communion wine. Which because it tastes different than other beers, is not a bad thing, I like different.

I'm tempted to go on Amazon.com order a 1000 communion wafers for $18, then eat them while drinking this beer.

Who's with me!?

Pshhhht... Bud/Miller/Busch are what poor college kids drink (speaking from experience).

Bud has always been a beer I could never force myself to drink, even if I'm smashed. It just tastes skunky and wrong.

I think all they did with this "platinum" flavor is boost up the alc content by dumping in some booze at the end of fermentation. Hence why it tastes like that.

Real men drink Micro-brews and Imports. Preferably from the tap. :)

people in the US should really stop supporting the mega beer corporations. there are 1500+ microbrewries in this country that make great beer and need your support. (ok, not all of them make great beer)

Agree'ed. I never drink the normal stuff, except for this beer only because they produced something that finally tasted different.

Real men just chew on barley, wheat, and hops. Hold it in their mouth, and after a few days, drink the beer they made themselves! :p

Let me introduce you to the three loves of my life:

699-1.jpg988.jpgBlack%20and%20Tan.jpg

Leinenkugel's Sunseat Wheat - She is beautiful, with a crisp color of gold like she's bathing in the sun.

Leinenkugel's Red Lager - She always wears a red dress no matter the occasion, and accompanies me hand in hand.

Yuengling Black and Tan - When you must step outside the bounds, and get a little wild, the darker women can get you there.

:D

I'm not going to say I haven't drank (drink) any of the Budweiser companies beers. I don't think I'm "better'n that." I just don't prefer it, no. Whatever (attempts) to get me there, I will pour down my throat. But I wouldn't willingly buy anything from Miller/Bud/Coors if given the choice. Unless it is the only available option, then I will **** and moan at the counter clerk about how her crappy gas station company (that she is just employed by, and doesn't have a say in it) is for not ordering any good tasting beer. If I do go with any of the "larger" companies, I get Michelob Amber Bock.

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
