Hello

Im having some problems joining a domain. I know the PC name is correct and the username and pass as well but when trying to join, I get a access denied. Now why I dont tell (again) to the admin:

I formatted and installed Windows 7 on this PC. I make the default and local user "jy99" (which is the name of the user also on the domain; stupid me for not thinking it). When I tried to join the domain, same thing access denied. I called the admin to have me join the "tol" domain. Someone was talking to me so I dont know how he resolved it (rather quickly though). The problem is that since there was already a jy99 local user, it made my user account on this pc (and its folder) "jy99.tol". I work with Java and as soon as I installed it, Java was telling me that it is not recommended to install to folders with periods (besides that, I dont like folders with periods)

So that is my dilema. Can anyone please help me out or does the admin really have to do something?

I'm not 100% sure on this, but they may have to delete the pre-existing join with the same name already on the system and then attempt to re-join, or have to join with a different name and have the admin add the new one. Again, not 100% sure about this, I do suspect there will be people more familiar with AD that will respond to this question.

he reset the SSID associated with your AD PC account on the domain. and you cant change the jy99.tol.(int) foldername as its related to the fully qualified domain name association.
