Half Life 2 Beta leaked?

Recommended Posts

its funny there are still peopel saying its not out and crap? ive been playing for hours now...and yeah those screens someone posted do like liek the e3, demo, because they are. included with the beta are all the E3 demo stuff, all the maps on the movies you saw, and much much more! lot of fun stuff to do and play with.

i saw some questions about the AI...they move well, they get out of your way, but thats really all they do now, theres so much not implemeted, so they dont really do much.

heres an SS:

Looking at the screenshots a few pages back, I must say i'm more impressed than I was wen I looked at the screenshots on the first page. It does however NOT look like a product that could of made it to the sep 30 release date.

@ the dude who was asking for cheats for it already, streuth man play it on an easier setting then, thats why they have EASY | MEDIUM | HARD. If you cant finish a game on EASY then I suggest that you stop playing it...

/me eagerly awaits the real release date of HL2

ok guys, my network went down for majority of the night and now I am back online. I promise I will post some screenies after I take my exam in the morning. right now, I gotta review.

btw, someone asked about my specs couple pages back... it's as follows:

Barton 3000+ 400fsb

1 gig pc2700

nforce2

radeon 9800 pro

Neowin poll some time ago...

2003 belongs to

Doom III  653

Half-Life 2  1574

Hahaha... Source code surely belongs to 2003.. :D

Heck, looking at screenshots, and yes I know they are low res and the game is beta, but please spare me.. even DOOM3 Alpha looks better on GeForce2 or some stoneage card that supports OpenGL. And I am not talking about FPS as it's a different story. I am personally really disappointed in HL2. I was really looking forward to it, but not anymore. The game looks more like HL1 with a Havok engine.

And yes yes.. before you say anything.. it's beta, I know...

See, it's people like you that make Valve worried about this leak. First off, its a beta. Second off, its a beta. Third off, its a beta. Have you actually seen any of the preview videos showing people falling down stairs incredibly realistically or showing a matress slowly slide over a ledge or a number of other amazing things (not to mention the best AI in a game, well, since Half Life 1).

...And forth of all.. I already said it's a beta. -_-

And yes, I've seen the videos, several times. And they made me being excited about the game. And that's why I was looking forward to the game. But not anymore. And if you read my previous post again, then you will notice I said that I was looking forward to it.

And as for the physics, then Max Payne has the same physics engine, Havok. So HL2 isn't any different.

Best AI? Have you even played the final version yourself? Just because VALVe says HL2 has the best AI ever, it still doesn't matter anything. If MS says Windows Longhorn will have the best security, would you believe it?

For the sake of your own good, come back to the reality!

AFter getting the BETA and playing it for an hr it's pretty cool. Lots of eyecandy, amazing physics, damn beautiful.

really like the E3 demos on the beta where you could see it on the E3 HL2 clips but now i can play it :)

hope the game comes out i can't wait ti buy it

Well at first i was going to suggest that the sep date was from last year, but looking at these new screenies it's so obvious that isn't the case  all i am sure of is that I'm going to resist getting this 'beta'. When I got the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom picture book from the Tufty Club I refused to read it untill I'd seen the film. 20 years later and I must find that reserve of patience once more.

    • I have updated my Series 9 Watch so I assume there is either a mistake in what was said, or as suggested - the new AI feature set isn’t supported on anything other than those listed above.
    • WhatsApp slams Isreali firm, NSO Group, for trying to spy on its users by David Uzondu WhatsApp has come out accusing Israeli cyber-intelligence firm, NSO Group, of deploying a fresh wave of highly targeted "spear phishing" attacks against users, which its security teams successfully thwarted. The Israeli firm, according to WhatsApp, ran this operation like its usual one-click phishing campaigns, trying to get people to click malicious links that lead them to external sites. To coordinate the campaign, the spyware vendor created fake test accounts and groups on the messaging app. WhatsApp said it is sharing the specific malicious domains, ikhwancast[.]com, ghazacast[.]com, and fr24cast[.]com, because potential victims need this data to check if they were targeted across other messaging systems or email platforms. The NSO Group is infamous for creating and selling Pegasus, a military-grade commercial spyware capable of silently compromising smartphones simply by sending a message or placing a missed call via apps like WhatsApp or iMessage. Users do not even have to interact with the incoming notification before the infection takes hold. Once Pegasus manages to break in, the spyware harvests private data, letting operators read private messages, emails, photos, and documents. It also tracks precise GPS locations, records keystrokes, activates the device's camera, and monitors live microphone audio. Independent investigations by cybersecurity watchdogs like The Citizen Lab and human rights organizations like Amnesty International have proven that governments use this software to track humanitarian workers, journalists, diplomats, and political dissidents. These findings directly contradict NSO Group claims that clients use the technology to spy on criminals and terrorists only. In late 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce added the firm to its Entity List, effectively banning the vendor from buying hardware and software from American tech companies. WhatsApp said in its blog post that the spyware vendor violated a permanent court injunction with this new spear-phishing campaign. This injunction, which took effect in 2025, strictly prohibited NSO Group from targeting WhatsApp and its users. The platform is now asking a federal court to hold the firm in contempt.
    • It would be surprising if even 3 year old Apple Watches (and not SE models at that) cannot run watchOS 27. Granted, it doesn't mean it would work as well. We'll see.
