Need a small 16 or 32 GB flash drive

Recommended Posts

Got myself a new car and it comes with some bells and whistles. Unfortunately a large hard drive isn't one of them.

It does have USB ports though. I wanted to load up a decent amount of my music and sometimes a few films on a flash drive that would stay connected to the car constantly. The only time I would remove it is to put new stuff on there. The ports are in a console between the driver and passenger seat which also acts as storage. Because of this I need a low (small) profile usb drive. I've searched and found a few but does anyone have any recommendations bearing in mind it will be used a lot, pretty much whenever the car is running.

Thanks

I have a few of these (Pico C Gold / Nickel) since they are basically indestructible:

I also have a few of the Cruzr's as shown above, but they are really flimsy. Really cheap, but it's thin plastic that won't endure much stress.

+1 for the Pico's, great drives and to me much more durable than the Cruzrs. I think I have about 4 of them, ranging from 4GB to 32GB.

Thanks for the suggestions but they stick out a little more than I wanted but I may go for them we'll see.

Are these any good?

Also bear in mind it will be in the car overnight in winter and it can get pretty cold so I don't know if that needs to be taken into consideration. Being in the UK getting too hot isn't something I need to worry about!

When I read the topic, I thought "How can the OP want a small 16gb or 32gb drive, he specified the size!"

Sorry... early morning. :p

But seriously, there are quite a few small USB drives, have you considered a micro SD card/reader? Might fit the bill... and means it's interchangeable quite easily.
