It's basically text which seems to be in Unicode, so I can't seem to just copy the text and paste it onto word, just comes up as ???????.

you should be able to paste it.. Do you not have the MS unicode font installed?

What is the language of the text? Is it Cyrillic or something?

I believe word has been unicode since like 97, are you using an older version?

I'm using Microsoft 2007, the language is Urdu, I was just thinking if I copy and paste the Unicode font into the windows fonts, would that work?

If your font file is .ttf or .otf, right click on it and pick 'install'. On XP machine you will have to go to C-Panel/Fonts and there menu File/install...
