Does anyone know how to find out the package demotions of Ikea products without actually visiting the store? It's kinda crazy that they don't seem to provide them on their site. I'm not sure if we'll manage to fit a product in our car...

I was looking at some garden furniture on Ikea's UK site the other day and they advertised the packaged dimensions. Are you sure you've checked thoroughly enough? Perhaps you could post a link to the item you're looking at.

Assume worst case:

Assembled size

Width: 140 cm

Depth: 51 cm

Height: 181 cm

Max. load/shelf: 15 kg

IKEA stuff is all flat packed, and single boards, so the box will be 190ish cm long. You could probably do the math for how high it will be based on how many pieces it has, but I assume the longest dimension is your issue.

They don't have them listed for that particular item; for example this item http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69907617/ has an added link under the 'Package measurement and weight' section labelled 'show dimensions, weight, and article number(s)' which contains the dimensions for the packaging for this item.

If you're that worried, hire a Van from B&Q for the day for ?15; it's cheaper than the ?35 delivery charge ;)
