PDF Reader with embedded Highlight / Annotation support?

Recommended Posts

I'm attempting to switch to Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) but I'm having difficulty finding replacements for some of the applications I use.

The most important one at the moment is a PDF reader which supports embedded highlighting/annotations. There are several on Windows (Foxit Reader, PDF-XChange, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) and OSX (Preview, Adobe Acrobat) but I can't find a decent one for Linux, the only one I did find was $150. Other people have suggested using a Windows one via Wine, but I'm trying to avoid that.

Does anyone have any suggestions for free PDF reader on linux with annotation/highlighting support? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply but before posting I tried all of those, unfortunately none of them have proper embedded highlight/annotation support. I need to be able to highlight/annotate, save and then be able to open the same PDF on Windows/OSX and still have the annotations intact (and still editable).
