need to format a 16 gig class 10 sdcard ... windows wont format it

tried to wipe it in windows ( write protection is off ) windows says it can't format it . how would i go about doing it with cmd will that support the 16 gig card ?

I think it depends on your Card reader, not really on Windows.

Reinstall your card driver, or Update the driver.

It may be that the class 10 speed rating is 'too fast' to handle.

tried that before posting sorry should have put that .. and i have tried 2 other phones and 2 laptops

i would try finding a card format utility from the card's manufacturer.

or use gparted. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ or http://gparted.sourc....net/livecd.php

or diskpart.

or use the device you're going to use the card in to format. unless you're not using it in a device.

What filesystem, ntfs, fat32? Try formating to fat32, some cards wont accept ntfs.

i did give the sdcard size its 16 gigs

fat 32 and i think the cards dead ! :( tried the diskpart and it can't format it get and error

See if you can delete the partition and create a new one with EASEUS Partition Master
