oldaccount1
I am familiar with PhoneView for Mac and DiskAid for PC, but I haven't used either in a while. I have some pictures and videos sent back and forth via MMS between me and a friend of mine, though the conversation thread is insanely long and there's no way I can get all the way back to "Save Video" or "Save Image" on all of these. Importing pictures through iPhoto (Mac) or Picture Import (PC) only pulls images and videos that appear in Photos on my iPhone. Any ideas?
g0dzilla
If your iPhone is Jailbroken and you have an iPhone file viewer application, you can navigate to these directories to try and find the files (they won't be in any logical order or naming convention): /var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments or /var/mobile/Library/SMS/Parts Otherwise PhoneView may still work out for you. That's all I can suggest...
oldaccount1
Thanks. Can the Var folder be accessed without a Jailbreak, or through any local backups?

g0dzilla
No, I don't think so as you need root access to get to that folder...
g0dzilla
You can try this: http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/ Although I have never used it myself as I have not had a need to; plus my iPhone is always Jailbroken ;)
oldaccount1
G0dzilla, iPhone Backup Extractor worked flawlessly. Thanks so much for your time.
g0dzilla
Ok that's great to hear then, happy to be of service :) To be honest I wasn't sure about that software and its exact functionality, but looks like it worked a treat for you and may do so for others on the forums in the future!
