The Pinball Arcade - Needs Your Help To Get "Twilight Zone"!

Recommended Posts

We?ve received many requests to bring the Twilight Zone pinball table to the Pinball Arcade. This table was released by Midway under the Bally label and is unquestionably one of the greatest pinball tables of all time (in fact it?s currently #1 in user rankings on the Internet Pinball Database!) We?ve finally succeeded in negotiating all of the licenses we?d need to bring the Twilight Zone to the Pinball Arcade. Unfortunately when we add up the costs of each required license and calculate what we?d have to charge for the table, we?ve realized that the Twilight Zone is just not commercially viable. So we?ve decided to try crowd-funding the cost of the licenses. We?ve set up a Kickstarter project for the Twilight Zone (just the licenses, not the development costs- we?ll cover all of those ourselves). If we can raise enough money through Kickstarter we?ll be able to digitize the Twilight Zone and preserve one of the greatest pinball tables of all time. If we don?t reach our goal no credit cards will be charged, but if we raise more than our goal we?ll be able to digitize other licensed tables as well (like Star Trek: The Next Generation!) We?ve put together a tempting list of rewards to say ?thank you? for helping out. Plus the top five contributors will get their initials featured as the default high scores for the table, immortalizing them as true pinball fanatics! Just contributed my $10.

Is my favorite TV show ever, have always heard about the pinball being legendary, and I literally just picked up Pinball Arcade for my PS Vita, so yeah, def willing to help myself and others get their hands on this table for $10. Good luck.

Really hope this gets funded, I officially picked up Pinball Arcade for my Vita, which is super sweet as you also get the PS3 version as well for no additional cost!

Now up to 65%

Help get the word out so we can reach this goal please!

I truly hope you can reach the goal. I have been playing the hell out of the game on my Vita since I purchased it, and I only have the 4 tables it comes with, and have only played 2 of them so far. But it truly is fantastic, and I really, really hope to be playing the Twilight Zone on it sometime soon.

EDIT - Just posted on my Facebook wall, hope a few people wind up supporting and also spreading the word. (Y)

Now at 75%!

Also they picked up a TZ...

We found one in decent shape (increasingly rare these days) at a fair price so we decided to jump the gun a little and grab it.

Thanks to you we're now less than $15,000 away from the goal. Please help us get the rest of the way there! The sooner we can begin, the sooner this will be in your hands to play, and we're dying to get started!

    • I wonder how many are laid off for cost savings, and this being blamed on AI to make it sound less scary and bad, for a more positive "modern, with the times" spin for investors? Because Oracle is down 14% the past year. We're looking at a company struggling here. If AI would actually be working out so well for them that they can do massive layoffs, surely this would've been reflected the past year in their stock value?
    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.
