Upon further inspection the options are supposed to let you set it to offline, so you're all good there - but wait for reviews to be sure. I think it should be like available in offline, no reason not to make it so.

I remember they said that you could turn it off in one of their videos that showed gameplay, I'm not a fan of drop-in PvP etc.  Co-op is fine though but for a game like this I want to play at my own pace and take my time, not have to run around chasing other players who tried to hack me etc.  The idea is nice of course, adds to the realism of it, so if you're all for it then have fun, I like the fact there should be a choice of on and off.

True but remeber even if  another play is hacking you then you have to find them cause they  will look to you like a random  NPC   rather then  the main character

It certainly adds an element of interest for those who want some competition. Hope there's a limit to how many people can invade your game, because if it's like in Rivals then it'll be a nightmare. Seamless MP/SP needs to be very well balanced to work right.

This shot makes no sense, which gives me relief as clearly this is not the actual Chicago..Clark and Congress. If this was looking north then Sears/Willis should have been to the left if at all in the frame, and if looking south it should not be in the photo at all. Yet here it is, to the right (east of Clark Street, which makes no sense unless geography has radically changed in the last few months). This is not nitpicking BTW, this game was heavily advertised as a realistic Chicago game. Honestly i prefer a fictional version. I'd prefer a fictional city, period.

if it's like in Rivals then it'll be a nightmare.

I thought Rivals worked pretty well overall after a patch or two, they just needed to can Overwatch.  It seemed like they had some bugs in that that people were exploiting for a bit...plus it was a stupid feature to begin with.

I don't know if I'll keep this multi thing on or not.  It'd make the game less predictable but could get silly after a while.

Rivals was horrible the first day i tried playing it, it was constant invasions and people EMPing the car...i switched to all offline. Watch Dogs looks like it will be the same, it's not like Dark Souls, doesn't seem to be any cooperative aspect. Just invasions to keep you on edge, basically like the AC multiplayer modes.

Yes, this was confirmed by Ubi Montreal. No problem for me, if it's a pseudo-Chicago then i don't need the prettiest version of it...the more detailed the more annoyed i might become

X1 for me, thanks.

EDIT: but what the hell is 729p? Is that like 1292 x 729 or something? Where do they even find these resolutions and how much difference can those extra nine pixels make?

EDIT to EDIT: hey StrainedSky, you need glasses - it's 792p. And here i was believing you! for shame!

1408x792, native res, with the hardware doing upscaling and so on.  Ubisoft has said a number of times that both console versions look the same/close, we'll see.

A  breakdown of the different aspects of the game was posted on the Xbox Youtube channel. Check it out, it has some bit of info that I wasn't aware of around side quests and characters etc.

Can't wait for this game, and the CE edition paid off for PS4... was expecting it at PS4 Launch.

That being said, I rather have a better game then wait a few months.

Yes, am sure it will look fine on a TV, have no qualms about getting the X1 version over PC or PS4. I just wish MS would wise up like Sony and allow digital pre-orders through the console..no idea why this is not the case. PS4 no problem paying off Watch Dogs right now, X1 you can only get the season pass for $20, game itself says unavailable. Doesn't make sense to me.

Indeed, this was supposed to be the biggest launch game ironically! This was the first glimpse we had of "next gen" back in 2012, yet it arrived late to the party. No matter, let's be grateful we are still here and may soon enjoy it.

They did say they were playing catchup on the software because of the whole DRM thing.

It has to happen eventually.  MS has been doing a lot more things that make sense recently.

Amen to that brother, will wait patiently as there are more pressing issues in life, but still, it's a distinct disadvantage compared to Sony/Steam/Uplay/Origin et al. Hopefully Phil and Yusuf will get to it soon.

Found this Screenshot on Reddit, claiming to be from PS4. People are saying like most sandbox 3rd person city games it looks much better when raining at night. People are comparing it in Daylight to looking "very similar" to GTA 4 on 360/PS3

Also this Advertising Stunt they pulled off was hillarious.

It's probably part of the deal between Sony and Ubisoft for day-one-digital

Likely true, seems Ubi is definitely preferring Sony this time. Especially with Watch Dogs having so much extra content on PS4. But then again i don't think you can really pre-order any game via X1 right now, but i didn't check each one obviously!

Has anyone seen any reviews on the multiplayer for Watch Dogs? I'm thinking of getting the game, but I have a feeling the multiplayer will suck therefore making it a game only worth playing once or twice. If you could link them it'd be great. I saw 'developers' showing it off, but their paychecks depend on the success of the games they make. I want to see a review from someone who makes 0$ on that review.

The onlien stuff is  Seamless built in to the game  so one part of the  the online part is that someone can hack you in the game in the single player game they can enter your game and will look liek a random NPC and try and hack you  and prevent you from doing what ever  . the rest of the online has differant modes that  look  liek they will not suck  . just watch soem ign videos on this or well watch the  Watch-dogs 101 trialer   it explains allot.

Also the game is not out yet  so reviews  are not out yet

Review embargo is lifted on release date so you'll have to wait until then.

Dang.. Wish I can check out the early reviews/impressions before pre-ordering it. I'm a bit unsure at this stage whether it's overhyped or not. Was excited when I knew about the game but after seeing some videos, I still got excited but wondering whether it'll be boring or not after playing for a while

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, Sonic Racing, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games store brought along two games from wildly different genres this week for PC gamers to claim. Robobeat is a rhythm-based action game that lets you become a bounty hunter that can wall run, slide, and bunny hop around his opponents. All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station. It uses tabletop RPG-inspired elements like dice rolls and timers to change up how players approach its activities, factions, and storylines. The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways end on June 25. On the same day, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought will become the next freebies. The bundle space expanded with two more collections from Humble this week too. The June 2unes bundle is up first, carrying plenty of rhythm games. This carries Kill the Music and Rhythm Witch in the $5 starting tier, followed by Trombone Champ, Spin Rhythm XD, and Thumper in the $7 tier. Paying at least $12 gets you the complete bundle, which adds on Kalpa: Cosmic Symphony, Everhood 2, NOISZ, and Sixtar Gate: StarTrail. The next bundle is for virtual reality fans. This carries Among Us 3D: VR and Zero Caliber VR for $10. The next tier brings in Tactical Assault VR, Ancient Dungeon, and Arizona Sunshine Remake for $15. VTOL VR, Zero Caliber 2 Remastered, Metro Awakening, and Thief VR land to finish things off for $18. Free Events It's a big week for free event fans, as Valve kicked off another one of its Next Fest events. This one carries thousands of gameplay slices from upcoming indie games The promotion is set to run until June 22. Standard free events are also ongoing this weekend. • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.
