I got my copy yesterday and was playing it a bit...

My spec is:

Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.4Ghz, 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ram, ATI Radeon R9 280 3GB, Windows 8.1. My OS HD is a 128GB SSD, but my 'gaming' drive is 1TB HDD. All my normal storage is on my MediaPC (10TB).

at 1080p on high settings, it is very, very laggy and slow frame rate (that is using Auto Detect). I had to turn AA off, reduce the res down a couple, turn motion blur off and lower shadows for it to be a bit better :/

For me it just isn't grabbing me. Feels like a cross between Sleeping Dogs and GTA - but Sleeping Dogs feels better...

Hoping the post above about new optimised drivers will sort this out.

Also - graphical glitches... is it meant to have them during cinematic scenes? Couldn't tell if it was part of the design or corrupted textures... .

I've got almost the same specs, I'm glad I didn't pre-order this one, think I'm gonna pass.

This is the reason why I gave up gaming on a PC, simply becomes pathetic having to change things just to get a game to play, atleast when you buy it for a console it's designed to work as it should

I was running it in full screen mode - apparently, borderless window is a lot better...

All of these things will be corrected, but should not be happening in 2014. What the hell is wrong with these people? They already delayed this game by six months. I'm getting it for X1, but not because of PC fears, my PC is more than capable of running Watch Dogs. Chose X1 for personal "support them" reasons, but still, WildWayz has a perfectly standard PC, spec-wise can't see anything that might cause these issues. That desktop has more transistors in it than the number of years our solar system has existed, and it still has problems running Watch Dogs? :|

Man i love game developers, but sometimes they really leave me wondering

I guess it is down to people having loads of different combos of hardware which the testers couldn't test.

I can understand why people pirate games; i've done it before - not sure how a game will run so you download it to see - then buy the game if it works well.

If I had downloaded this and had this experience, i'd have not bought it... guess that is why there aren't really game demos anymore...

People should get the updated drivers for their respected video cards and see how that helps, which it should because it's not often new updates come out specifically for new games.

No updated Radeon drivers yet - last ones were from 25th April 2014.

The Nvidia ones were released earlier today.

The multiple configurations explanation only goes so far...games are supposed to be developed for a set number of profiles/drivers. Anyway, it's part of the charm of PC gaming. You get the most technically advanced version but at the cost of having to put up with some issues. To be fair this is happening with far less games now than it did in the past.

They'll figure it out, in a few days you'll have the proper experience. I don't think this will turn into another BF4 or something like that.

Dont talk nonsense! Consoles are now stripped down PC`s have been for a wee while in many respects. Heck last gen we had several games with issues on consoles, much worse than those on PC. Battlefield 4 being one, Battlefield 3 another of and remember Rage on consoles? All had serious launch day issues that were similar or worse than those being found on PC.

Unplug the Ethernet cable.

if you are playing the legit PC version at least the DRM will kick you off the game after a certain amount of time if you are not connected to the internet for it to check back with ubisoft.

    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.

    • Recycle Bin has been broken for literal YEARS now. The setting to delete files older than 30 days from the bin which is on by default doesn't even work. I have files older than 4 months in it and they are just there still...
