if you are playing the legit PC version at least the DRM will kick you off the game after a certain amount of time if you are not connected to the internet for it to check back with ubisoft.

Better set up Norton to block the hackers then. Nobody wants their game hacked.

Waiting on CDKEYS.com still to get code....

I got mine from CJS-CDKEYS yesterday but bought my Season Pass from CDKEYS (5% discount from Facebook) and that Season Pass key came through straight away. However, on my account it doesn't show it - but the download link in the email does.

Anyone know if the XO version has anything special like kinect commands or such?  Its alittle more conveinent to play it on my XO since its on most the time anyways BUT i also kind of like i can stream it to my vita when the tv is being used.  Going to pick it up on one of the systems tonight

I have not seen anything about Kinect specific commands or integration.

The PS4 version comes with extra content, that I am sure will be DLC on the XBox side eventually, right at the start.

The PS4 version also has a slightly higher resolution.

So if it is just a matter of slightly more convenience, I would suggest going with the PS4 version as it seems to have more content for the same amount of money. That's what I did.

Thanks for the reply i did not know that the ps4 had extra content included.   Looks like im getting the ps4 version cause i cant see any benefits of getting the XO version.  Figured it would have special kinect features but it seems it does not.  Playing infamous on the vita was pretty nice only wish it would stream a little farther so i could be in bed with it.

Probably will pick up the $20 season pass as well.

Just to update you...

I've installed the new AMD ATI Radeon 14.6 drivers and switched the game to run in borderless window mode @ 1920x1080 res... everything on Ultra but the AA is set to temperal thingie - don't know how to check the FPS (and not got FRAPS installed) but it is MUCH, MUCH smoother - to the point it feels like at least 50fps if not more! Driving is more responsive too.

So I don't know if it is the drivers or the switching from full screen to borderless that sorted it, but I am much happier. Just hate evading cops :D

Nice, thanks.  I dont like randoms coming in and messing up my game.  I will probably turn it back on when I get farther in the game.  But I like to play solo or coop.

it dsont work like that  i am not sure how it really works that they  end  up in your game but when they  do  they look like a random NPC   but you are alerted that someone is hacking you  and when that happens your first thought  is to find them and  get them.  the  nice thing about this is it takes the game deeper cause thewy can hack you andf steal everything you have  worked  on getting  or so it seems  .   it is nothing to worry about

It just adds more depth to the game

Just so you guys know, you can disable the online hacking thing, but if you do there are some perks/upgrades that will be locked out and unavailable to you if you do that. It seems Ubi Montreal wants you to get hacked or hack others :|

Ok for some reasom cant edit my last post but this is from the   engadget Joystiq review   on the hacking

there's something exciting about being unexpectedly invaded by another player. They appear in your game as a regular civilian and begin downloading your data from afar, obscured in a crowd or lying low in a car. There's a sudden panic when you're alerted to the process, followed by a ruthless hunt as you attempt to profile the hidden hacker with your phone before they escape with a full download.

These online invasions are arguably the smartest realization of what Watch Dogs is about: the fear of being violated, and the principle of identity protection. Even when it skews toward bigger actions and questionable bouts of busywork, though, Watch Dogs is a more fluid and modern power fantasy than we're used to. Somewhere, in its vague, fantastical version of hacking, there's a lesson about the power and the naughty temptations that lurk in our networked, selfie-loving world.

Wish I could say mine ran smooth.....I have tried borderless with the game set on low and at times it still gets choppy and sucks (didn't seem like borderless changes anything for me personally).....guess that's my aging GTX 580 causing that....

As for showing FPS, if you dig into the GamerProfile.xml in your documents folder, there is a section along the lines of displayfps="0", haven't tried it myself but I assume it would turn on an FPS display.

EDIT: I think I just figured it out.....by default the textures were set to HIGH which mentions "2GB of Video Memory", my 580 only has 1.5GB, so I turned that to Medium and while the game looks noticeably worse (as far as texture quality goes), I am running on the Auto-detect settings (which oddly doesn't set texture quality, but everything except textures turned on High) and the game is 100x more smooth and feels better (was getting sluggish mouse controls before which made it really difficult to play). Couldn't highlight that setting before and see the 2GB requirement because I always looked at settings in-game (as in loaded into the game world, which disables the ability to change texture quality).

I picked it up midnight UK time and played until 10AM. Got invaded twice, now the Americans have the game the servers are dying a slow death, I even had a bounty on me and nobody came to claim it. Last night when it was just Europe and 'Straya someone invaded me 15 seconds after getting a bounty.

    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
    • Hello, Bonjour is Apple's implementation of a multicast-DNS service, which allows devices running Apple's software and/or hardware to find each other on your local network.  I believe the Windows version was last updated around 2010. If you do not need it, you can stop and disable the Bonjour service in the Services Control Manager (filename: SERVICES.MSC).  Once you have done that, the operating system will no longer attempt to load the service. • This AMD RX 9070 16GB GPU that performs close to Nvidia 5070 is under $600 by Sayan Sen With the memory shortage that's prevalent nowadays, discounts are super-hard to get. As such we post good deals whenever they pop up. Recently, we covered a few great discounts on SSDs wherein you can get a 4TB TeamGroup NVMe PCIe Gen4 drive for just $400 thanks to a special coupon. If you want a faster product but don't need all that capacity, you can also opt for Samsung's 990 PRO 2TB that is on sale for its lowest price in over three months. Let's say though that you are on the hunt for a 1440p gaming card. In that case AMD's RX 9070 non-XT can help, and with its 16GB VRAM, you can also run AI models locally without worrying about bottlenecking (check out our recent 9070 GRE reviews for gaming and productivity to get an idea). The PowerColor Reaper variant of the RX 9070 is currently on sale for just $580 which is a very good price in the current state of affairs (purchase link under the specs table down below). The Reaper cooler on this 9070 uses a triple‑fan design with ring‑blade fans, paired with premium dual ball bearings to extend lifespan and reduce friction. "Intelligent" fan control allows the fans to remain idle at lower temperatures, only spinning up when the GPU is under load. A nickel‑plated copper base makes direct contact with both the GPU and memory modules, helping to spread heat evenly. PowerColor also applies Honeywell PTM7950 phase‑change thermal interface material (TIM), which fills microscopic gaps between the die and heatsink for more efficient thermal transfer. The fan shroud is shorter in height as the firm has made it such that it can be used in certain SFF (small form factor) cases. The technical specifications of the Reaper RX 9070 are given in the table below: Specification Value Stream Processors 3584 Units Video Memory 16GB GDDR6 Memory Speed 20.0 Gbps Memory Interface 256-bit Engine Clock Game Clock: up to 2070 MHz Boost Clock: up to 2520 MHz Bus Standard PCI Express 5.0 x16 Display Connectors 1 x HDMI 2.1b, 3 x DisplayPort 2.1a Maximum Resolution DisplayPort: 7680 × 4320 HDMI: 7680 × 4320 Board Dimensions 289mm × 111mm × 41mm 304mm × 127mm × 42mm (with bracket) Slot 2 Minimum System Power Requirement 600W Power Connectors Two 8-pin PCI Express Get the PowerColor Reaper RX 9070 at the links below (you get only a 90-day warranty on Woot): PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9070 16GB Graphics Card (RX9070 16G-A): $579.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $700) PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9070 16GB Graphics Card (RX9070 16G-A): $559.99 (Sold and Shipped by Woot US) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified. • Are they marketed as an entry into astronomy or astrophotography? I do astrophotography. With big rigs, lots of computers, cables and headaches. I love it. And by learning this ridiculously complex hobby, I’ve learned about the objects I’m shooting. Astronomy followed from photography.
