Where did you purchase it? Get in touch with them immediately. All Ubi games on PC require a CD key, including Steam/Uplay bought copies.

I got it today at walmart. Completely sealed and everything. It had a card with space for key, but had no key there :/

What happens when you put the disc in, assuming you have Uplay installed? Maybe the disc is keyed/encrypted, and will give you a one time user key when you autorun it. Otherwise take it back to Walmart, i did a quick check and didn't notice any special complaints about "watch dogs walmart no cd key".

I put the disc in and Windows asked me what I wanted to do as far as opening File Explorer or showing the autoplay menu, and yea I have uplay installed from other ubi games.

And it asked for a key at some point? To be honest i haven't bought a physical Ubi game on PC since Uplay launched, so not sure about the process. But it should be pretty straightforward. Might be someone forgot to put to key in the box, simple as that. Might be a problem getting it replaced at Walmart, retailers don't like hearing "bought the game but there was no CD key, so can i have another?". Sorry to say this :(

EDIT: it's weird because Uplay should have auto opened when you put the disc in, not a Windows prompt

I've got a support request in with ubisoft, but I don't have high hopes of that doing anything useful for me.

EDIT: This wouldn't have been a problem if they'd just used Steam instead of their own propritary-never-works-right thing, since steam uses the physical copy as the authenticator. Ha steam would've solved a lot of their problems with this launch.

Steamworks still requires a key on most games, heh.  So if you didn't have a key you'd still be SOL.

Experiment is right man, Steam just piggybacks on Uplay for Ubi games, it would have been the same. I hope Ubi can help you, a simply missing or not working key is very rare these days, i'm sorry this happened to you, i remember well trying to get a new COD2 key from Activision when i lost the game box while moving :(

I meant if they used ONLY steamworks and not a combo of steam and ucantplay..I mean uplay. Also it's cool, not your fault.... I"m gonna see if I can't get Walmart to let me exchange it, instead of bothering with Ubisoft support.

Really? I've actually never had a Steamworks game ask me for a key and on some of them (especially the physical copies) I didn't even know they had keys :P. In fact of the maybe 6 or 8 UPLAY games I have, I've only been asked for a key maybe twice. I guess I'm just weird like that idk

I'm loving this game, I have everything set on Ultra and it looks just fine to me, I'm not one to have to have the best graphics in the world, to me it is ALL about the gameplay and the story.

I have to agree with a lot of people so far, the one thing that really bugs me is the driving experience. I am getting used to it but it is really annoying.

I have not yet once been unable to connect to the ubisoft servers though, I have not been kicked off the server; my connection appears stable at all times and it took about 45 minutes to download the whole game through steam, I thought that would have been slower :p

Playing through the campaign slowly and enjoying everything in the game.

I'll probably be putting a fair few hours into this :)

True, but Ubi insist on Uplay and Steam can't do anything about that. Other then end up with the same issues they have with EA - meaning no new releases available. It might be that if you buy the game directly from Uplay you don't need a key, but not sure. Good luck with this at any rate, hope you have it resolved and can enjoy the game you paid for.

I've been playing the game on high/ultra settings, and runs very smooth. But randomly it'll start laggin for a few seconds and give me like 1fps.

Pretty annoying. Hope this gets figured out. I'm not sure what triggers it, but it usually happens when police are alerted to me.

I'd say uplay is the only real downside to the game. I'm really enjoying it.

They'll probably figure it out and fix it, but it did not need to happen. Especially annoying since this product was specifically delayed to "make it the best we possibly can". More like so it wouldn't hurt Black Flag sales. Uplay is simply not setup for the mass activation that took place. My X1 version also couldn't sign in to their servers on the 27th, but yesterday it connected just fine.

By all measures they were not ready for something they took an extra six months to prepare for. Otherwise game seems fine from the hour or so i played.

Most likely you'll have to turn down your settings.  I had the same problem and I ran the suggested settings and it turned  down my settings and it stopped happening.

what's happening seems to be that around that time the cpu or GPU gets loaded with a lot of physics and/or AI calls and that causes the game to lag with very low FPS.

so while you can run the game at ultra when you're just going around doing your thing, it does't work when the police starts chasing you and some other stuff happens.

I don't think this happens to anyone more than Ubisoft. I remember the same issue well over 10 years ago with Ubisoft titles.

I vividly remember Rocksmith and AC3 had the problem too Possibly Rayman Legends too IIRC.

Ridiculous.

So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games store brought along two games from wildly different genres this week for PC gamers to claim. Robobeat is a rhythm-based action game that lets you become a bounty hunter that can wall run, slide, and bunny hop around his opponents. All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station. It uses tabletop RPG-inspired elements like dice rolls and timers to change up how players approach its activities, factions, and storylines. The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways end on June 25. On the same day, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought will become the next freebies. The bundle space expanded with two more collections from Humble this week too. The June 2unes bundle is up first, carrying plenty of rhythm games. This carries Kill the Music and Rhythm Witch in the $5 starting tier, followed by Trombone Champ, Spin Rhythm XD, and Thumper in the $7 tier. This carries Among Us 3D: VR and Zero Caliber VR for $10. The next tier brings in Tactical Assault VR, Ancient Dungeon, and Arizona Sunshine Remake for $15. • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.
