You certainly can, and it doesn't take much to search for that online. I would post a LMGTFY link, but I don't feel like being that mean today.

In the search box in the top right of the browser, you can see a little logo for Google. Right next to that on the right hand side is a little arrow. Select that and now select a new search engine.

the solution above only changes the searchbox, for the default, you have to dive into about:config and change

keyword.URL to your desired one. In my case, I use this url querry http://www.bing.com/search?form=QBRE&q=

So if you want to use yahoo, you have to find its equivalent.

As long as you download the plug-ins (from Mozilla add-ons) you can change the default search engine in Firefox's runbar. In about:config (enter about:config) into the runbar & click enter.

Ignore the warning about dragons & type into the filter bar ~

browser.search.defaultenginename

Click on the string to open the dialogue box (Enter string value) , delete Google & type in the search engine of your choice (remember you have to have downloaded the plug-in).

Click OK, then the home button and you have finished.

I recommend Duck Duck Go SSL

Honestly, you don't get this with SeaMonkey, it can all be done in preferences. Mozilla don't want you to change from Google easily.
