Yes! I've been waiting for this car ever since MissionL concept was shown last year.

2013 Skoda Rapid officially revealed

Skoda has released initial details and photos for their all-new Rapid compact sedan. Followed by its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, the Rapid will have its market launch in Europe from autumn 2012.

First previewed as the MissionL Concept last year in Frankfurt, the Rapid is the first model to show Skoda's new design language. With the exception of the front lamps, door handles, and roof panel, the Rapid appears identical to the MissionL concept - even the wheels are the same.

Positioned in the Skoda model range between the Fabia and the Octavia, the 5-seater Rapid measures 4.48 meters in length and 1.7 meters in width. Five petrol and two diesel engines will be initially offered.

The Rapid is an A segment vehicle which currently accounts for approximately 36 percent of the world's automobile market. Within this class, sedans have a share of around 42 percent. According to industry experts, the number of A segment sedans sold worldwide will rise by about 50 percent by the year 2020.

Skoda is targeting the Rapid to families looking for a roomy first car at an affordable price.

Its sister, 2013 SEAT Toledo, possibly leaked yesterday.

p.s. Btw, Rapid is a lift-back.

Looks nice, but that boot looks pretty non-existent!

It does look nice! I love its agressive, sinister "eyes". :shiftyninja:

As for the boot, the full specs haven't been released yet, but, I assume, its trunk space will be comparable to that of Mazda 3. And keep in mind it's a lift-back, so it will open like this:

The rear seats are most likely fold-able too.

Not sure what the point of this car is?

To increase the sales, capture a lager market share, and make some cash in the process.

The Octavia is rivaling BMW 3 series, C class Mercedes, Audi A4 & VW Jetta

Superb is rivalling BMW 5 series, E Class Mercedes, Audi A6 & VW Passat

So not sure where this car will sit, unless Octavia is going

Oh and Skoda is positioned below VW in their corporate ladder as far as the affordability goes, so comparing it to the premium German brands is not serious.

^ It might not get more sales though.

Do you know something VW/Skoda executives don't? I don't think so. :D

They are even launching Rapid's nearly identical sister, the new Seat Toledo. It's called diversification. Yes, it can lead to the so called sales cannibalization, but I'm sure they've done their homework.

One of the cars has to leave, as there's not many car manufacturers selling two of the same cars i the same range.

Like I said, unless the Octavia gets booted out and the Rapid is the replacement

Rapid is already smaller (and will sell for less) than Octavia; they are in different car segments.

    • This piece of ###### is probably one of the most hated apps that ever existed.
    • Microsoft is bringing a much-needed Recap app to Teams, here is a first look by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is heavily used in work and school environments, and perhaps one of its core but extremely useful features is the ability to record meetings. In past years, Microsoft has further improved upon this functionality by integrating AI, but you do need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to leverage most, if not all, all of those capabilities. Now, the Redmond tech firm is making another significant enhancement in the area of Teams meeting recordings. Up until now, if you wanted to access Teams recordings, you had to arduously locate the meeting invite and navigate to the dedicated tab, or go to the cloud storage location such as a SharePoint site. This was a rather overwhelming activity, especially if you don't remember the name of the meeting or the meeting occurred quite a while ago. Microsoft is now attempting to solve this problem through a dedicated Recap app that consolidates all your recordings. This centralized experience will allow users to find all recordings from the past 30 days and also offer access to other related services such as transcripts and AI-powered summaries. Customers will have the option to search for recordings, filter them, and review multiple meetings by generating AI-powered podcast-style recaps. The Recap app will list all available recordings in both thumbnail and list views. The former is shown below: And here is how Teams users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can select multiple recordings to generate a podcast-style audio recap: Microsoft has emphasized that the Recap app is pre-installed in Teams but it will not be pinned by default. Users will able to navigate to the Teams app store from the left rail, and pin it from the apps section. It will be enabled by default for all users once it becomes available. It's worth noting that while Teams recordings and transcripts can be accessed by all users governed by existing permissions, AI-powered features like intelligent summaries, audio recaps, and video recaps will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The Recap app will be generally available to Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web by the end of next month, with mobile support coming soon.
