Transformers 4 (Official Thread)

Recommended Posts

Which people? Dumb teens who have bad taste in movies? Just because it made success does not mean critics and everyone else liked it, just because it made money does mean the movie was good. Also, the movie is called Transformers not HUMANS, how about less time on humans and more on the Bots? Wait a minute, something else was missing in the third Transformers, oh yeah a decent plot that does not put you to sleep and what a dumb ending with over the top useless CGI action.

When movies make money it does not mean it was a good movie it just shows which type of people this type of movies can easily be targeted for to cash in.

Jesus get over it already. Who cares what the critics said, do you live your life by critics? I'm so tired of people jumping in threads like this or anywhere on the internet with their stupid "michael bay this, michael bay that" bull****. If you don't like it, don't go see it, but looking at the money it made, does in fact mean it was successful, regardless of what you think about the movies. If you're not a fan of michael bay, or of this franchise, then move along and stop trolling, because there are people that enjoy the movie, that are neither dumb teens or critics, and can appreciate a movie for exactly what it is instead of being a whining little baby about it online. Sure a great story, like that of X Men first class, or Avengers would be amazing, but I sure as hell have enough common sense to go into a transformers movie thinking it's gonna be some academy award nominated script. Instead i go in to it with realistic thoughts that i'm gonna have a great time with my family and see lots of action, and I enjoy it, as do many many others. Your comments and your generalization of the franchise audience are ridiculous, especially considering you've seen the movie obviously, so i'm guessing your a dumb teen? a critic maybe? Just because you don't like something doesn't mean others don't.. so quietly move along to something you do like.

I personally thought all 3 movies were great and can't wait to see a 4th. They all had some ridiculous moments, i can agree on that, but my expectations were 100% met going into them, as were my wife and kids.

Director Michael Bay has confirmed that Transformers 4 will have a new cast and said that it will be taken in a different direction from the first three films.

Bay spoke about the film in an interview with the L.A. Times. He confirmed reports from earlier this year that said none of the main cast would return. Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel had already confirmed that they would not be in the new film.

Despite the new cast and new story line, Bay said that the film would not be a reboot. Instead, the fourth film will build on what happened in the first three.

?We?re taking the story that you?ve seen ? the story we?ve told in three movies already ? and we?re taking it in a new direction. But we?re leaving those three as the history. It all still counts.?

Bay, who plans to meet with the film?s writer next week, said that taking the story outside of Earth was a possibility.

?That feels like the way to go, doesn?t it?? he said. ?I want to go a little off but I don?t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That?s what works in these movies, that?s what makes it accessible.?

The franchise?s most recent film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, is the fifth highest-grossing film worldwide at the box office.

Bay plans to make the fourth installment on a budget of about $165 million, $30 million less than Dark of the Moon had, according to Complex.

Like he said while making the previous two films, Bay says Transformers 4 will be his last of the franchise.

The franchise?s most recent film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, is the fifth highest-grossing film worldwide at the box office.

Shocking. I guess there really is no accounting for taste.

Dreadful. The first one was barely watchable and went some way to destroying my childhood but each subsequent one has been terrible.. this sounds appalling :|

"I want to go a little off but I don?t want to go too sci-fi."

I am trying to wrap my head around that, because Transformers is science fiction. This is now one of the most idiotic statements that I've seen from him, it even tops him wanting the make the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into aliens!

The first film was ok, but the 2nd and 3rd just left me feeling like I wanted the near 6 hours of my life back! :p

And tell us exactly what was wrong with the Transformer movies because the box office seems to disagree with you. What was so bad about them that you didn't like?

Can I ask what people expect of these movies? It's not based on the original cartoon, it's based on the damn toy and if you watch the special features on the 3 movies you would understand this.

Firstly, are you honestly expecting people that don't like the films to have bought the DVDs or Blu-rays and watched all the special features? Secondly, I expect decent movies. The recent Batman films show that you can take a franchise previously seen as incredibly camp and cheesy and make it credible - and it's not just about making films all dark and serious. The first Transformers film was actually alright for the first half... then out came the cheesy, over-the-top bad guy and the entire film became a train wreck. And what I've seen of the other films - as I have no intention of watching them in their entirety - is even worse, an opinion supported by the appalling reviews and negative fan feedback.

Nobody is asking for the franchise to become a tense political thriller or to redefine modern cinematography. But it would be a start if they were actually watchable, had a plot and cast people who could actually act (Megan Fox was a terrible choice - if you want eye-candy go watch some porn). Unfortunately they are very successful because - like The Avengers - they target families and young people with a lot of disposable income.

    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
    • I think I understood the article fine. Online password managers open users up to more possibilities of getting hacked, and due to KeePass being offline and local it reduces the idea of getting hacked. If someone chooses to put their database online they're kinda missing the point. With regards to the idea of the on-prem idea, I would have two issues. I'm not sure about the first issue, but I wouldn't be surprised about them offering a cloud storage for the passwords that most wouldn't bother to switch off, regardless of if they went for on-prem or not. The second issue is that the on-prem solution for Bitwarden costs money, whereas KeePass is free and open-source (as far as I am aware). The article points out how to sync the database between devices, and I recognise that deficiency in security. But it isn't a necessity. So both services can offer a same idea, but one is free and the other isn't...choices, choices.... But to each their own.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
