How do you change hotmail Alternate email address?

Hi, I'm a live.com email user since 2006. :)

I have acess to my both live.com emails (Yes this are my accounts, no hacking on other people emails whatsoever).

I have no longer the Alternate email address that I used when registring in 2006.

And today I went to account settings and tried to add a new Alternate email address.

Guess what.. It says it will send me a email to my previous Alternate email address to confirm the changes. Great..

But... wait... the problem is that my previous Alternate email address has expired and is no longer available for me to use.

So how the hell with only this option of confirming, am I going to change my Alternate email address? :angry:

Guys pelase help me out here, since even my phone number can't be updated without a funcional Alternate email address... :o

I didn't have one (could have sworn I did...) but when i did it lets me confirm that from a trusted computer.

So... set up or get to a trusted computer and try it.

Coincidence, I had to do this a few days ago, although I wanted to change because the email wasn't one that I accessed regularly. When I did mine it said that the email would be automatically removed after 30 days. So if you didn't want to faf, just leave it for a month and it should automatically be removed. Unless of course you need to do something soonish, in that case probably ignore me :s

Never mind guys, I just screwed me over.... :angry: :angry: :angry:

Now this account says it's blocked and the confirmation email address I have there is invalid... I just lost my personal account... How Great...

Anyone from Hotmail team around here? Please, please, please... :D :D :D

The Hotmail help page is here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/hotmail/help-center The first link in the section titled "Get help with your account" is "Account temporarily blocked", which links to a page containing information and options... one of which is to contact support.

Once you get your account back go to http://account.live.com to change your alternate e-mail address.

Hi, I have two live.com emails since 2006, this one from where I'm posting and another (I'm not going to post address until a Microsoft Representative asks, sorry SPAM avoidance).

In the other account and even on this one, I have a invalid Alternative Address Email, it is no longer available to access, the company that managed it has shutdown and after a couple of days of no use it get's blocked and no Support is given anymore.

This alternative address email was set up back in 2006 on both accounts. ( Yep I'm the one to blame for not changing it :( )

So now my other account is telling me it's blocked (It accepts the password), I press Continue and it tells me it will send me a verification email to the invalid email address.

Could you help me out here please, I'm loosing my mind over this as it's my personal account...

Also both this account used to be Linked (LINK ID). But since I just changed the password (Better late than sorry) on this account I'm not even able to enter in the other account anymore.

24 Hours later and nothing, no response on the post I created at Answers.Microsoft and in a email for Hotmail support...

Now I understand the frustrations I used and still do hear from people who got their email locked without any good reason....

Got this response over my other email:

But as far as I can see, there's nothing on this page that applies to my case...

I'm going nuts over this.

That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”.
