SCOM 2007: Processing Backlogged Events Taking a Long Time Resolution state

Hi Guys,

We are stuck in following error, "Processing Backlogged Events Taking a Long Time" in SCOM 2007 Operation console... If someone have any idea about the same, kindly share.

I have also tried to clear system & application logs but this will just temporarily solution after server logoff/login then this error will come again on console.

Why don't you let it finish, or go through the logs to find out which events are causing a hangup? I know SCCM 2007 would get stuck updating collection membership and there were ways to clear it up but it would always come back until you let the operation complete, which depending on membership rules or the membership update method being used could take days.

EDIT: We found out later that this was being caused by SCCM looking for systems that had DHCP reservations and AD accounts, but could not be contacted by the SCCM server. It will keep trying to add them until the operation timed out or you rescope the membership networks/trim the AD structure.
