16 PCs need to have windows 7

Recommended Posts

If it is just a Service Pack, since Windows NT - every Service Pack for NT has been freely (except for download charges from the connection provider) downloadable from Microsoft. This has held true since the size of the Service Packs themselves ballooned (Windows NT4 Service Pack 5, to be precise). For more *in-demand* Service Packs, Microsoft has, in fact, pressed CDs and DVDs specifically for distribution at trade shows, etc. - again, starting with Windows NT4's Service Pack 5; however, it has been true with Windows 2000's Service Pack 4, Windows XP's Service Packs 2 and 3, Windows Vista's Service Pack 2, and Windows 7's Service Pack 1. ISO images of these Service Packs (primarily aimed at network deployment; however, they are perfectly usable for single PCs or even VMs) are still available via Microsoft's Download Center

And your point is...?

The link is for the Windows 7 installation DVD images, not service packs. It's always a good idea to read comments before you reply to them.

Acronis is NOT free, so depending if you have a budget -- than sure I would suggest snap deploy for sure

http://www.acronis.c...cts/snapdeploy/

Its not free, but its not break the bank either. I believe you can purchase it per deployment for like $10 so for your 16 machines your looking at $160, then the addon for universal so that you don't have to worry about different hardware. Or you can license it for $25 a machine and deploy to that machine as many times as you want, etc.

Clearly this would be a good option for someone new to this sort of tech. But it can be done completely FREE as well. There are some great deployment tools out there for FREE - http://www.ultimatedeployment.org/

Take a look at FOG - http://fogproject.org/

And yeah MS supplies the stuff you need to do mass deployments as well, the problem is you have to READ how ;) So your quickest would most likely be Acronis -- designed to be idiot proof and for the small SMB not really tech guy to use even.

Please there is an issue I do not know how to deal with it.

The 1st computer I setup is having a computer name and a user to log in to windows.

When I make a copy of the drive to extract it in other computers how to solve such a problem?

Is it it possible to only change computer name and username and that will solve the problem in the new installed computers later on or what is the right thingI should do?

...so what is the actual problem?

Well, now I've finished the clonezilla process as you can see here:

How can I restore it to any other new computer?

so now you boot your new computer with clone zilla, and use the restore option. It will ask you for the share location.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
