Hey guys, I wanted to see what your thoughts are on this issue. I whipped this together so you can see what I'm saying.

My neighbor, who I've never said 1 word to keeps parking his car (car 1) in front of my house. I know this might not seem like a big deal, but this really does irritate me. I know no one owns the street, but wherever I've lived it's always been common courtesy that you don't park in front of another persons house.

The funny thing is the ******* has plenty of room, but yet he still continues to park in front of my house. He has a double car driveway and with 1 car in it (car 2) that never moves. Car 2 is his truck he uses for fishing and it rarely ever moves from that spot. He leaves the other lane open so his fancy car in the garage can be backed out without moving any cars. He parks his work truck (car 3) on the other end of his property so he doesn't block his mailbox. He can fit 2 or 3 cars in that stretch where (car 3) and his mailbox are located. It's a pain in the ass when I cut my grass and I want to edge my lawn along the street his car (car 1) is there blocking me. Yesterday my nephew came to pull a dead tree out of my front yard and again his (car 1) made it more difficult then it should have been.

I want to say something to the guy, but he could easily say "you don't own the street" or "you're single. is it killing you if I park in front of your house?" I was thinking about starting to park my car on the street where his car is to throw a hint at the *******. See I look like the bad guy here because he has no common courtesy for his neighbors. Why doesn't he just park his car behind car 2? It's always empty.

Has anyone had any experience with issues like this? I don't want bad blood with my neighbors, but this is just wrong in my opinion.

and why don't he just park behind car 2 if is never moved?

That's the question I've been asking myself. It's always available.

How do you go about asking him to park in front of his own ****ing house? I just want him to park in front of his own house, not to have bad blood between us.

The "****ing" is silent :p

You could just ask...

You've launched into swearing and name calling on an internet forum, without ever even asking him. Heck, you could say "It was tricky getting that tree out and we don't wanna damage your car" and him appreciate it.

Sheesh!

We have a similar problem here except its a private road way, Woman (who we never talk to except for parking issues who is not even a neighbor) insists on parking where it makes it difficult for us to park. She has 2 garages and 1 car, she parks outside 1 of the garages even though there is plenty of unused space further down in front of the other garage. When asked to move further down says its her garage so she can park outside it. Then when we don't park exactly in the right place shes round complaining she cant get in and out, even though there is plenty of room. Shes just a complete d*ck for no apparent reason :/

I'd just start parking my own car there for a couple of weeks. Maybe it doesn't seem like even a slight problem to him, in fact, he probably does it out of laziness and habit by now. Just force him to kick the habit by having your car in the way! When you go back to using your own drive, if he still carries on parking there, just ask him at that point. If you do it the other way around, it'll seem like you're being a dick on purpose.

With anything like this, you have to be smart. Small problems with neighbours can seriously blow up and the worst thing you want to happen is make the situation any worse and have a mutual tension between each other, or even worse, a fully blown up feud.

Some good advice on here -- let us know how it all turns out.

This thread should only have been made once you asked him nicely and he decided to be a d*ck about it

If you haven't even asked him, then chances are he is not a d*ck and thinks you don't mind / hasn't even thought about it

Well at least anyone who just said to introduce yourself and ask him if he wouldn't mind parking elsewhere has some sense. I would be embarrassed to make such a post if I hadn't even talked to the man beforehand.

The truth is you can't do much about it unless you act. I hope you come across better to him that you did in the original post.

I used the comments I did about the guy because this guy should have never put me in the position that requires me to have to say something to him to begin with. I don't know where you live, but it's always been common courtesy not to park in front of other peoples houses. The thing that irritates me is that he has all kinds of room but now I'm the bad guy if I say something. If he would have never parked there to begin with then we could have just gone along with our lives without any animosity.

I was merely asking the best way to tell the guy. Someone made a great post that I should just say could you please not park your car there because the other day it interfered with some work I was having done. I'm not a confrontational person and I just hate being put in this spot.

I don't know where you live, but around here, you at least have spoken to your neighbors once.

    • How does it compare to the "SeeStar S30 Pro" and the "Vespera PRO 2"?
    • Indeed. And note that those units are MUCH cheaper than this new Steam Machine...ahem.
